I think he's good but not great. Many Mississippi high school football fans I've heard from consider him to be only the 3rd best QB in that state this year. I understand why the coaches are a little panicky in getting 2 QBs to have 5 QBs next year on scholarship (with no seniors) but in reality I don't think he'll play at LSU unless we go through a long rash of injuries. I also think us signing him really hurts our chances of signing any QB next year.

no big deal on next year really, if we sign a QB he will be teh sickness. CG will absolutely play while at LSU, it may be his RS Jr or RS Sr year but he will play

Being from MS, I would consider him top two. The kid from Meridian is the only one that I have heard from that is in his category. I watched the South Panola quaterback last night, and I was not that impressed. Garret is a kid that will not be afraid to wait his turn, and said that he would love to have the oppurtunity to sit and wait like Matt Flynn did. From all personal accounts, the kid has a very strong arm, is very gutsy (played without telling anyone he had substained a concussion), and loves LSU. He also has been touted as a leader on his team. What more can you ask for?

He stands tall in the pocket at 6'4. He's incredibly accurate, has great form, and makes minimal mistakes. From what Ive come to understand, he's a student of the game. Not very highly touted, but has alot of potential and upside. He has a shot at the QB position depending upon his progression as a player and quarterback. So he could very well be a starter one day or never see the field. Too early to tell. He will RS his freshman year.

I think he will eventually

He will redshirt, backup for a couple years and hopefully start for maybe his junior or at least his senior year.

He will be the next Matt Flynn.

I don't think we sign anyone, mainly becuase no one would really want to come to a school with 5 QBs on scholarship already with no one leaving after the year was over. Terrance Broadway is a can't pass prospect and it looks like if we pass on him he's going to you know who.

I just don't see it. I hope he proves me wrong but like I said I think unless we have a long string of injuries at QB he won't play. He'll always sit behind Jefferson, Lee and Shepard...and I tihnk we sign a better QB from now until his 4th or 5th year here.

If we signed Broadway, he would just sit also based on this type of predictions, because he is no Shep. Also, Sonny really likes Garret and has been impressed with him this year. He is also a high character kid, and you cannot have enough of them. Just curious, did you see MF playing when he was competing with JR? Probably not and he left with a ring. Just saying.

he isnt a cant miss, i mean he is good but if he was a cant miss you can bet your arse he would sign with LSU. he will go to bama, no big deal. i seriously doubt Lee is at LSU in 2 years and CG will have the experience and already has the physical tools, shite did you watch the video? the kid can hold his own in the pocket and can actually scramble when necessary, plus he is killer with his 10-15 yard outs

Broadway would be 2 years behind all our other QBs, not just 1 year like Garrett. For instance if we signed him instead of Garrett...

2009
rJR - Hatch
rSO - Lee
SO - Jefferson
FR - Shepard

2010
rSR - Hatch
rJR - Lee
JR - Jefferson
SO - Shepard
FR - Broadway

2011
rSR - Lee
SR - Jefferson
JR - Shepard
rFR - Broadway

Yes because I always saw JR leaving a year early.

I agree with you on this one SLR. I think it was a good pick up. The comical thing is people bitch we did not sign a QB in 2006(?), but now they are complaining we are signing too many right now. RS could end up not being a QB and then we are up a creek. I think RS will be a QB but there is always that possibility.

Well shep has said he wants to get his degree. Broadway could have to sit for three years waiting on Shep. You can't sell this to a big time recruit. Be happy about the situation.
