If you have been to IMG you would understand that it is basically an athletic prep school. Their academics are good but its the structure and resources that attract kids. They have the top facilities and as athletics come above academics.
They teach you how to balance school and athletics in college and as soon as all these players their now get into college its only goin to get bigger because they will become the backbone for IMG's popularity plus they will start traveling more across the country for games because for past years most their games hav come from the Jacksonville area

IMG manages the careers of many professional athletes, like:
Colin Kaepernick
Cam Newton
Matthew Stafford
IMG Academy is clearly a place for IMG to develop relationships with promising athletes who will then become IMG clients.
Doesn't any of this smell rotten to the NCAA?

Why would u leave a top tier program like Neville?
Probably for more exposure. Stay at Neville and get a couple small time offers like Tulane, Tech, etc
Or go to IMG and get an immediate boost before he even steps on the field, which of course leads to bigger and better offers

Yes, because no one from Neville has ever gone somewhere bigger than that. And they certainly don't have any other guys being looked at bringing eyes on him there.
It's not like he's at East Bum frick. He's at a premier program already. This is the same issue with guys leaving big time basketball schools to go to Findlay Prep. Except with Findlay Prep, they're actually going to get better competition for the year that they play there. IMG can't really say that. Southern Lab? Decent, but nearly the competition that Neville will play.

I'm guessing he's paying full tuition right? That's part of their business model, give scholarships to the top kids and get the borderline ones to pay full freight. Colleges like Tulane do that with academics, although it is still very selective.

Apparently he got a partial scholly to go there. He already left for West Monroe once and came back. His parents are a bit on the nutbag side.

quote:It could very well be IMG's business model to give a reduction/waiver to as many potential pro athletes as possible and then collect it back when the athletes become IMG's clients. Sure, they won't get 100% client representation, but they'll develop a relationship with enough of them to more than make up for it.

IMG is just casting bread upon the water.

Makes sense. I heard the Mangum coach this morning talking about how absurd this is getting. Blame the parents, not the kids in all of these situations. Completely clueless and it sucks that the kids must be avoided because their parents don't get it. He mentioned Shae as well. Crazy... Some go for the right reasons, so I don't want to down all, but many do not. The 2 in state in particular make no sense, but as mentioned if you follow their history it's not surprising.
Only way my son would do it is if there was an academic situation involved as well that was too good to pass up

Chris has been frustrated for awhile because he feels he's being overlooked. Guess we will see if he has been for real soon

Definitely holds a high opinion of himself. Good luck to him, hope it works out.
