His only downfall is his defense. And sorry i didn't mean D1 i ment to say he wasn't SEC material. The kid can flat out score don't get me wrong. But, he isn't quick enough to guard elite guards in the SEC.

C Stanley is actually Chase Stanley from U-high. He is 6'1 and 170 pounds. I'm not sure who the Dylan kid is, but I've been to a ton of U-high games this year and he's been putting up 30 pounds a ton, which is pretty amazing since almost every team in their district has played a box and one against him or been double and triple teaming him.

He's put up 30 points 14 times (which is exactly half their games) so far, and even broke the U-high single game scoring record this year with 47 points. Thats a pretty big accomplisment considering the talent to come out of that school (Big Baby and Collis Temple in the past 8 years). He's also leading his team in points, assists, rebounds, steals, etc.

Regarding the earlier statement about Bridgewater, in three matchups this year he's outscored and outplayed Bridgewater twice. In each of those games, Bridgewater guarded Stanley and he still put up monster numbers (36 and 34) against what is considered to be a top college prospect.

While I don't think LSU is actively recruiting him at this time (I mean, why would they want a kid shooting 85% from the free throw line and around 50% from the field and three point lines), I do know that he's received interest so far from ACC and Big 12 schools as well as a few of the in state schools.

His biggest obstacle in recruiting is that he's only played for U-high for two seasons and in his junior year he was basically asked to distribute the ball only and not to score.

This is the best description I've seen of his situation coming from the last thread. I guarantee you he will be tearing it up for some D1 college in the next few years.

If he can guard the starting guards in the SEC plus his offensive skills, that would be more than enough for LSU already.

How many guards in the SEC right now that can guard the ELITE guards???

I've reffed U-High 4 times this year. This kid would come into be the same type player Ben Voogd was here.

Voogd was the same way in high school avg. 28 points, same size. 6'1 175... almost identical style

Ben Voogd?? Voogd played HS ball in Oregon so I cant comment on what he looked like in HS.

That being said, I saw him at LSU and I have seen Stanley play. Stanley is a better scorer than Voogd and definitely has a quicker release and better stroke.

do you know how stanley looks against 6-4 athletic guards in the s.e.c.?

j.j. reddick could light it up until he had a 6-5 g. temple defending him.

At the least, Voogd was a three star prospect coming out of high school, so you'd think LSU would take a look or talk to a three star guy out of U-high.

Further, while I can't find the stats on anything state wide, I found the link to all of the top scorers in New Orleans and the surrounding area's, which includes a large number of the state all star team. Stanley is currently scoring more than all but one player and has over 400 points more on the season than the next closest player, at least based on what was in the advocate on him a few weeks ago when he was over 1,100 points for the season.

Does this mean he deserves to play at LSU, not necessarily, but I think somebody who could arguably have the highest scoring average in the state MIGHT at least deserve a look.

Stanley is not a 3-star. He's a no-star. And as I have said, you don't know that he hasn't gotten a look.

once again I saw one of the games U-high played against Episcopal and Stanley dropped 36 against Bridgewater, who is a very athletic 6'6 prospect.

I didnt see the other game against episcopal but I know he went for 34 w Bridgewater guarding him again.

Not saying Bridgewater is the be-all-end-all, but dont tell me the kid cant score against a larger defender.

Ben Voogd looked just as good against high school competition. Hell, he was a REC legend. Charlie Thomson averaged 26 ppg in high school. Not knocking the kid, but just because he can drop that on high school teams does not translate into D1.

Bridgewater is a powerfoward/center, that matchup is not what he will deal with at the next level.

ETA: I would love to see him be a Zach Kinsley type player, come in even as a walk on and be able to contribute

not at the college level. He will be a guard or small forward.

He is a sophomore and a monster. If he gets any bigger which his brother was 6'8, I see him as a 3/4. He will not be a 1 or 2

Pretty sure he's being projected as a 2 or 3, but either way I think the point is that Stanley was able to score without a giant problem against him which shows he can most likely do that at the next level.

Hippo, you should wear a patch to games to let the kids know your tigerdroppings handle, ha.

Everybody knows who I am. I have had pictures posted on here several times. I am the retard that used to wear the Lamont Roland jersey to every game.

I love bridgewater as a prospect, but he tends to get lazy on D after a while... beckman will call a timeout chew him out then he'll hustle again.

Let athletes be athletes. If you're going to create contact it's on you to finish. That is where some of these kids that do well in high school (get bailed out with fouls and don't learn to finish strong) have trouble when they get to the next level

So, did this guy ever sign anywhere, or was this much ado about nothing?

I felt certain this kid would be signing with Duke as much grief as LSU got in this thread for not recruiting him.
