Hurd was injured. Their situations are vastly different.

Yes, Burns has had a much, much better track record over the past two seasons. Stop being an idiot

Burns was an elite starter in 2022. He struggled for about a month this year, was moved to the pen, dominated, and found himself on a staff with 5 guys who could go on the weekend.

Burns struggles as a starter were because he only throws two pitches and teams were happy to sit back and let him emote himself into fatigue.

Hurd’s struggles were strike zone related. And still he was landing more pitches for strikes than Burns ever has.

They both had the same prospect pedigree and Burns track record being longer is strictly injury related.

Additionally Hurd didn’t pout and throw tantrums when his role changed and he didn’t ghost the staff and communicate only through his agent.

Their situations are vastly different between the ears. But go ahead and call me an idiot, fricking douchebag.

He had a sub 3 ERA as a full-time starter all of 2022

How many pitches do you think Floyd threw this year?

Will do

Or maybe I’ll just call you a homer. That better pumpkin? Burns is as good as anyone we have coming back next year. Fact

Two fastballs, two breaking balls, and a change up. So 5.

Are we talking about the pitches he theoretically has or actually throws and relies on? Now do the same for Burns.

It was your question, I answered it as it read.

And no. You tell me since you know everything about him.

You told me Burbs only throws 2 pitches. Do you actually believe that or are we going to keep being intellectually dishonest? Or does he throw about the same number of pitches as Floyd does? It’s ok, that’s a rhetorical question

Burns throws a 4 seam, sinker, slider, curve, and change up, but he heavily relies on 2, just like Floyd, and Floyd relies way more heavily on 1 than Burns does

Nothing he said is wrong there. You're also not really disproving his point. Hurd always had dominant ace potential with his stuff but he had a habit of hanging balls in the zone and that's why he always got off to slow starts getting tagged. It's always that 1 bad pitch that catches him then he shuts down. He got off to slow starts. Even Florida in the last game made him pay for the 1 bad pitch.

He's also right on Burns. He struggled at the beginning. A sub 3 ERA doesn't disprove that point either. Yes, he dominated out of the pen but that's why he's in the transfer portal. He was pissed he lost his starting job from a few struggles.

I don't really know what point you're trying to make here.

Burns >>>>> Hurd

And, that's fine. But, one guy has two elite pitches...the other has two good pitches.

There are 2 potentially conflicting narratives on Burns. One story is he wants to be the Friday starter wherever he goes. The other story is he's looking for the biggest NIL package. While the 2 stories could intersect, that's not necessarily the case.
I think if he comes to LSU he and Hurd are definitely your #1a and 1b. Who starts Game 1 really doesn't matter.
If he goes to Mississippi State or TCU, he's the "Friday starter" and State is probably throwing around serious NIL money given Lemonis could go the route of Orgeron if he fails to make Hoover again.

lmao if you think Hurd doesn't have 1st round ace stuff. You're blind. If he locates his pitches more consistently he's a 1st round talent.

100% correct. Hurd would have been drafted yesterday had he been eligible. Maybe not in the top 28, but top 70.
