Don’t forget about Jermaine Sharp. Fastest guy on the team. I watched him and Eddie Kennison race in the parking lot at Broussard hall and it wasn’t that close. Transferred to Southern.
There was just a lot of discourse there. Tons of talent...but everyone hated the coaching staff. And they were lazy. If a guy skipped workouts, whatever. They weren’t gonna go out of their way to do anything. Just bad all around.

So was Hallman and staff just terrible coaches? What caused the football program to be so bad during his years? I remember one year Hallman recruited the top 4 running backs in the nation ( at least I think in the nation). Anyway,, honest question. TIA.
He lost the team, there was not buy-in, a lack of motivation "in clusters", and very little focus (including his staff).
It was almost like Jr High in a way. The players that were focused and driven were almost outcasts just like in Jr. High the kid who studies and tries to do well is bullied. A player who looked for help and support to be the best was hard pressed to find that on a consistent basis.

Thanks for posting! Nice to be able to read something interesting, instead of guys arguing with each other. Remember Sharps name but definitely didn't know he was faster than Kennison. The Hallman years sure were puzzling. Thanks for the insight.
