I wonder if there isn't negative recruiting going on as concerns the possibility that Blake Baker won't be around by the time a 2025 Defensive Player hits the LSU campus(?).
Same can be said for UGA and the near future some of their coordinators become head coaches.

In this present time in college football(NIL, transfer portal, revenue sharing)this narrative is a waste of time.

If you have good coaches, they will be sought after eventually. It would be a good problem to have.

If Blake Baker isn’t around for the 2025 class, that either means we won a title with a lockdown defense or he made Matt House look like Bill B.
And I don’t see either happening
Beyond Baker, I think we have more stability than most top programs with our coordinators.
Brad Davis seems to be a lifer - and thank God for that.
Bo just got here and he’s straight paid. We’re also his alma mater, so I think he’s locked up for awhile.
Raymond just got fired from his last gig and this is home anyway. I don’t see a scenario where he goes anywhere else. Not sure he even has a choice.
Sloan is being given an opportunity to be a O coordinator at a premier program. He’s not leaving for anything other than a HC job and that would only be on the table if he has a Joe Brady type season.
We’ll probably lose Hankton in the near future, which sucks, but you can’t keep everyone.

So they basically just listed the highest paid young coordinators in the P4. Took some real analysis on CBS’ part.

Exactly. You have a likelihood that 90% of the roster will be gone before blake leaves. Cross that bridge when we get there.

We are paying BB a ton partly to limit these issues. He is making more than most G5 HCs and would have to decide on compensation versus position in the pecking order. Doesnt say he would not take a one of these HC entry level jobs but might make him hold out for a good P4 job which are rare to first time HCs.

Relax. Kelly has a pretty good track record with coaching staff turnover. He isnt EdO.

Don't worry about it. Considering Baker's ties to Louisiana and how bad LSU's defense has been, and his pay, he'll likely be here the next 3 years.
We were talking about this not long ago about really good coordinators at high level programs not jumping quickly to any kind of program that's open. Why deal with the NIL hassle at a lower school when you are getting paid Go5 head coach money to be a coordinator? It makes more sense for guys like Baker to learn under a vet for a few years and grow their reputation high enough to grab a tier one or tier 2 job. Lanning was hired at Oregon after being a LB coach at UGA for a year, and then 3 years as UGA's DC. That championship launched him into a tier one job (and yes, because of NIL, Oregon is a tier one job). Venables and Smart both stayed on with multi year championship coaches and left for tier one jobs. Who knows, with ties to Louisiana, Baker, if proven to be elite, could just stay until we win a ship or Kelly retires and he takes over.
