Saw that. Crickets from insiders regarding whether a numbers issue or credits issue. I personally don't expect him to contribute next year anyway but the extra reps couldn't have hurt.

I’m guessing he hasn’t accumulated the credits.

He'll be here, which is enough. The good thing is he was not expected to be needed year one. Taking in account what we already have, aka, no more portal gets, the best case scenario is that JK Johnson and Zy Alexander are ready week one. Brown, Johnson, Alexander, and Stamps are hopefully the 2 deep week one. All have experience at the power 5 level. Add in PJ Woodland, and possibly Toviano (I'd rather him at safety though).

Going to be a very interesting spring. I'm most interested to see if they do move Toviano back to safety / what that does for Yaites + Jackson (if they do), how Hughes + Stamps look, how they use Jordan Allen, and the health of Zy + JK.

Health is going to matter again this year, for sure.

Hel will definitely behind the rest starting fall camp. Not saying he won't be a good player but he will have some ground to make up to find playing time next year.

Wouldn’t Sage Ryan likely take one of those starting CB spots?

Which ones? Shea and Billy have posted nothing in the thread about it. Not talking message board insiders. I pay them no mind. Most are pumpers who cryptically veil any actual information particularly the ones on On3.

Health matters every year?

Yes, of course you're right, but it matters more when we're thin at a position group, so for us db and dl for now. We just don't need a rash of injuries before the season even starts or something like that is all I'm saying.

Idk how, didn't he tear his ACL against Army halfway through the season? Is he even going to play this year?

ACL's are crazy now. It used to be a calendar year from the date that a player could be back on the field. Now you see guys ready to go 6 months later. Each case is different, some are freaks and can come back seemingly stronger. Others never get back to where they were. I hope for this young man he's ready to go.

I have no inside info - like zero - but I have read he's a mid season return? Sure hope we have him back early.

Seems like he will be out half the year.

Spot on with that. I remember the 1 year measuring stick also. But it seems to vary more widely...position played, extent of the ACL damage, individual healing differences, etc. I was disappointed that Maason Smith for example after literally 15 months after surgery still hadn't sufficiently recovered. I assume he did his rehab and he was in decent shape, but 1.25 years later, he doesn't look like the same player at all.
But as you said, some recover remarkably in less than 1 year. That would be nice if Zy Alexander who I thought was playing very well the games before the Army injury could come back good as new after say 9 or 10 months. I'm happy with what I saw with Toviano, and even though he gets little namedropping here, I think Ryan Yaites is going to be a good contributor...played in every game last season and did OK for a TR FR.
