I've seen Rivers' dad on TV plenty, and I'm sure the "I'm Phillip Rivers' dad" line would get him laid in San Diego and Raleigh. So I'd consider that famous.

He'll take McCartney's place as the 3rd-4th string QB that signals in plays from the sideline.

Im with you. Im excited we got this young man. He will have access to all the same coaching in the summer as his brother... Just like J. Gore was working with Frank Gore during last summer. You dont have to fix his release if he is accurate because he is tall enough that it doesnt matter. It sure works for his brother and Stephen is more athletic and mobile. Good pickup.

Lots of people in this thread don't want the kid at LSU and it's sad.
don't be a fricking idiot.

if you can't see from that video that he's very raw, then you obviously know jack shite about QB play. Not to mention his stats have been less than stellar for a D1 QB prospect. He may end up being a good QB in time, and I definitely welcome him to LSU but there's a reason there are a couple dozen other QB's ranked ahead of him in this class

He has 0 line help and no good skills players around him. That being said, I hope he takes a GS so we can go get some more LBs, D-lineman and WRs

He's a goddamn high school quarterback! Why don't you post up some footage of the totally polished Mettenberger, Brissett and Bridgewater that this board is verbally fellating on a daily basis?

Every high school QB is raw, this kid just happens to have the best possible situation around him to develop that I can possibly think of.

I'm just curious, which of these attributes aren't good? Tall, good arm, quick release, accurate, mobile, makes good reads.... Now list the things he's totally shitty at.

Probably the same reason there's a couple dozen QBs ranked ahead of Adam Pittser, namely his high school runs an offense that throws the ball 6 times a game. Except Pittser went to the Elite 11 camp and was MVP.

Can you think of any other highly ranked QBs whose high school team threw the ball 6 times a game?

Obviously this guy has bought into the rating agency "star" system, even though that is all based on fan base accommodation (money).

Other teams that think Rivers is good enough to get a scholarship include:

Stanford, Florida St., Arizona St., Mississippi St., Kentucky, Tennessee....

I promise you Harbaugh and the gang would love to have him.

He doesn't look bad, but from what I watched his receivers were wide the frick open!

That said, I hope we get a new OC or at the very least a good QB coach and he becomes the next Phil Rivers after Mett leaves.

Looks very raw, but you can't argue with the pedigree.
