quote:

There's been a breach in the Great Wall of Canes. The green and orange protective layer that used to shield the hearts of players born in the area codes of the 954 and 305 is beginning to disappear like the ozone. And if the University of Miami isn't careful, the hole could get bigger. The intrduers could end up becoming permanent residents.

quote:

there are more choices out there and just because you are from Miami doesn't mean you have to play for the Canes.

Alabama grabbed Ed Stinson from that area last year. They are also in on a number of the guys from the Ft. Lauderdale area. I know LSU now has a pretty strong pull there too. If Shannon doesn't get it together, Miami prospects are going to start leaving in droves.

[quote]If Shannon doesn't get it together, Miami prospects are going to start leaving in droves. [quote] As Miami gets more & more away from their 'glory years' kids are starting to grow up thinking of Miami as an average to good team only. Same thing with Fl. St. & you could say Nebraska is in the same boat. On the opposite end, you look at Florida & LSU as two 'hot' teams right now, they continue to pull in top recruiting classes. I just hope LSU can keep it going, & the way to ensure this is to win, win win...

This is stupid IMO. They've pulled in two top ten classes in a row without leaving south florida.

I don't see how losing a couple = losing their hold.

i think they will get back to recruiting like they use to in a few years. not as crazy but pull in top players. but they wont be as good as they were in the past IMO

miami, texas, and USC will always have this problem. Buts its a good problem to have. When you have talent like that around. Its not really a problem, until a scrub commits and the superstar leaves state

from Palm Beach county down and across to the W. Coast is the sweetest piece of recruiting poon in the country. They'll be fine.

I'm in Miami several times a year. The city of Miami is not what it used to be. There are still prime areas, but for the most part, the city is like a third world country.

Tubby will be the next Cane's coach as early as next year after Shannen and the Canes underwhelm. Super Agent already working on this.
