How does this work? Does it count against the over all number we take (25)?
I know there are a couple kids who could enroll early like: Hootie and Davon.

Yes it counts against the numbers. But, I think you can only have a certain amount of EE.

Most high school kids have enough credits to graduate a semester early by the time the spring semester of their senior year rolls around. That allows them to graduate and enroll at the college of their choice.

Not to mention it gives you a leg up because your practicing for spring ball.

So we're going to let Davon count against our EE numbers. We are going to have a good bit this year. you can only allow however many graduate that spring I believe and it counts against that years 25 is my understanding. I don't think we should allow Godchaux to be an EE especially if he's not participating in spring drills. that's the point of it from a fooball perspective. What does the RB think?

I thought you could use the EE to count against the previous year's numbers (if spot available) or the following year? or some shite like that

Isnt their some kind of benefit (not just that the player gets to practice spring ball).

An EE has to fit under the 85 limit. For example, if we have 83 scholarship players now(I don't know the real numbers), we can have 2 EEs. The number of EEs can increase if you have players that have or will graduate by december. For example Mett will graduate. I don't know how many of these we have.

An EE also counts against the 25, however, he can count against the last class if there is room or the incoming class if there isn't room. It's not clear to me at this time whether there is any room to count back.

If you read the rules as literally written, then we should be able to count back 2, but I don't believe the SEC is implementing the rule as it is written. If I'm right we can't count any back and we will be limited to 25 this year excluding grey shirts who don't sign with the class.

Read a article today saying a few guys looking to be an EE. How can they make public at these allstar games and be enrolled in December?

The games are in early Jan. They don't have to be enrolled until the last day to add classes in Jan. Now when they put it off like that, whether there will be room or not to be an EE depends on space and how the coaches have managed it.

A ton of Seniors graduate in December or already have their degree because they have been at LSU for 4-5 years and have taken summer classes every year. This opens up a lot of schollys for EEs.

From a football perspective I think having a guy coming off an injury enrolling early and rehabbing in LSU's facility with a team of skilled trainers and coaches makes a lot more sense than having him try to rehab on his own while still attending high school and just seeing a doctor here and there for a checkup.

Ok I know we gotta honor our word from a moral perspective, but until you put it that way I didn't see a benefit on our part of having him be an EE. But yea I would much rather have him in our staffs hands medically.

I think I read last year that there is a numerical limit of 6 early entrys maximum. we had 7 that wanted to be EE's and let only 6. One had to get his parents to pay for it and I think that guy didn't snow up and went to another school, maybe even Notre Dame. Any one else remember.

It was Patrick Miller and he ended up at Auburn.

But the reason why it was six was just due to the number of current scholarship players and players who,we're graduating in December 2011.

It rotted to see Miller go, but all worked out in the end with Jeremy Hill. LSU had 8 EEs last year and they will find a way, especially with Willis, Speedy, Tony Brown, Edward Paris, Harris, Godchaux, and Hootie ready to be on campus early.

It would really benefit him on the rehab end to be at LSU.
