Homie, I would not go there last time I checked Lacy was drafted in the 2nd rd by the Packers and Ford was not drafted. I think they won that one.

I mean what young impressionable eighteen year-old kid would be swayed by 2 national championships in a row and three out of the last four?
Seriously? I hate that LSU lost this kid but it happens every year. Last year we lost the kid from U High and everyone was saying the same thing about "how could a kid that played HS ball right next to LSU NOT go to LSU?" Maybe he wanted to do something different? Maybe he liked the idea of winning national championships at BAMA? Same thing could be said of this kid. There are a ton of reasons that could have come into play.
I am sure there is some kid that LSU is recruiting from another part of the country where people think he is a lock to go to another school that will ultimately pick LSU. It happened this past year with Ethan Pocic. He is from freaking Illinois and his brother played for the Illini.

No, no, no. You cant have your cake and eat it too. Were are strictly talking about RECRUITING RANKINGS. Based on that, Lacy wasnt the top prospect out of Louisiana.
You can't use the kind of hyperbole you're using saying that we NEVER get top in state guys, then use their draft placement. If that is the case, then LSU fricking wins all day long for guys like Claiborne, Brockers, Mingo and Minter. Not the highest rated recruits that end up being 1st rounders.

I thought Mingo was pretty highly recruited. I am pretty sure he was a four star for both Scout and Rivals.

He was, but he was still a project. You dont sign a 225lb Defensive End and him just magically be a top 10 pick.

It is like this:
When I was a kid many of my fellow students loved Dallas and San Fransisco because they were good. Therefore I grew up to hate both of those teams because of all the kids liking them ONLY because they were good.
Cam grew up backing LSU. But he chose Alabama only because of their recent success. That to me puts him in the same group. Latching on to a winner. And I always dislike people that do that. So in the sports world, Cam is the enemy. I will not wish him well. I will not welcome him back. HE switched to their side! Hope he rides the pine with LC and never sees the field.

On another note, all the whiners here saying he was trolling LSU are all full of shite! He made his announcement well before signing day and could have held off just so people like me wouldn't view him as the enemy all year. NOTHING he as done suggest that he was trolling LSU. Everything has pointed to Bama. He confirmed what we already figured. But An early Sept. commit is what everyone here should want from someone jumping ship to fight for the enemy.

Mo Claiborne I get since he was recruited as a WR and they switched him to Defense or even Tyrann Mathieu since he was not very highly recruited at all. But Mingo was being recruited by everybody. The guy was a complete freak athlete in high school. The guy wasn't some diamond in the rough discovered by LSU.

Too bad the kid chose Alabama. But you can replace a great tackle with a very good one and not see much of a difference. There are some very good linemen already on campus and a couple coming in with the next class. The key recruits this year are the two or three top skill players in state.

A recruit who goes on national TV to say he is going to a rival has no respect for i=his state and fans and you should not care. He could have committed quietly was going out of state.
