The frick is wrong with you? We shouldn't give O credit? How about the fact that he locked up Aranda and Raymond? He is keeping a top 5 class together in a year that we fired our long term coach in the middle of the season and had a ton of negativity surrounding the program. Does it make you feel better to be so damn negative?

are you people able to read anything objectively or within context? I was speaking specifically about the offensive recruits and the initial decision to not hire an OC until after the bowl game. If you think that was a smart move then you are beyond help. The best thing that happened to us was the QBs decommitting/whatever and forcing Os hand in regards to hiring an OC.

You don't know that......Narcisse made a comment. You have no idea what O was thinking regarding his OC hire. He may have just been saying he was going to wait.

If you think O hired Canada solely to appease the two QB recruits then you are beyond help. The offensive philosophy and direction of a program is bigger than one recruit or recruiting class. You don't rush the hire to get a few recruits and you can't claim that his hand was forced to make the hire. You have no idea what the frick was going on behind the scenes.

Obviously he tied his hands with the (implied) Kiffin guarantee and it was OBVIOUSLY an issue with offensive recruits. Its hard to land anyone with choices when you cant tell them who their coach will be or what system we will be running. Something had to be done. Happily, we ended up with a very good OC and both our QB targets regardless.

so are you saying he hasn't committed to anyone yet? I was reading another thread and got the impression that he had announced for Florida St. Came on this thread to try to find out what was up. Has something happened recently (if he hasn't already committed to them) that Akers is almost 100% Florida St?

as far as I can tell, Akers hasn't committed to anyone yet. I don't know where the rumors are coming from that he has committed to Fla St but 247 still shows him as uncommitted and has LSU , Fla St, and a few other schools listed as warm. No CB's for LSU though (many people believe you can't put anything into CB's due to the only people who really know are the recruit himself and perhaps his family and sometimes close friends/teammates/coaches). It doesn't appear, according to 247, that he is giving LSU the cold shoulder.
