But why FSU? Already have two of the top 12 backs committed RB rankings
After Guice, we are really thin (for 2018). Ole Miss is the team that really makes sense if he wants to play year one. Playing as a backup in LSU's offense isn't all that bad (ask Guice).
If he does choose FSU at least he's out of the SEC, especially the SEC West. But having him on the squad would really set LSU up real nice for three years at the RB position.

It sounds like they may have convinced him that he will be get significant carries in year one despite the apparent depth chart.

Fisher must have really sold him, but I'd be skeptical if I were him for the reason you stated. Akers would have a great career at LSU, I have no doubt of that. It's very disappointing because he would really help us, and RB is the one position LSU seemed to have a leg up or at least hold its own in recruiting because we run the ball so much.

Agree while FSU may have momentum, it doesn't sound like he's told any coaches where he's going.
