No championship for LSU until he arrives.

Does he have good pad level? How’s his backpedaling? Is he twitchy and fluid in the hips? Does he wrap up or go for the big sports center hit?

So, at worst Nuss is zero dimensional?

I’m ready for Underwood now. . Many other nice pieces are in place. My guess is that the Heisman folks will want to lean to the media darling Manning family. But LSU gives him a great shot at it not just because of our recent past Heisman winners but the oppurtunity to beat Texas and upstage manning. Going to be fun.

I don't know the exact details but his family has a deal in place to be at LSU. They're taking care of the entire family. It was a multi million dollar deal. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up at LSU.

quote:I will say this. If you say we have a dual threat with LSU receivers, this offense would be crazy. Think of Caden Durham in a RPO with a QB run threat. Hell, think of Kaleb Jackson getting a head of steam in a read option.
So LSU makes the playoffs if we had him in BR playing one of the only positions that’s been pretty consistent the first 2 games?
Nuss will put up elite numbers. I could legit see 4000 yards and 40 TDs in 13 games, but im thinking about a dual threat who throws for 3k 30 TD and runs for 1k 10 TD, with a rush offense that has 2 extra 500+ yard guys. Jayden Daniels was redzone magic last year. Think if we had the tush push game one vs FSU.
Take Michigan for example. Their run game wasn't popping until they put Alex Orji in last week after the terrible passing QB threw his 6th int in only 3 games. Ojri can barely throw. They beat USC with 32 pass yards and 290 rush yards at 6.3 ypc.
This is the new modern college football. Almost dvery great offense, the QB can run. I know people are going to mention Texas, but that's because of the way Sark has that offense built. Go look at the top 10 and tell me a great offense that doesn't have a dual threat, that isn't Texas.
That's why i keep saying 2026 is the year. This 2024 defensive class will be juniors, and the 2025 defensive class is loaded and will be likely starting or rotating into most positions. The defense will finally be purged of all the terrible veteran secondary players. Bryce will be a true sophomore or redshirt freshman depending on Nuss. Durham a junior, maybe a senior Jackson, and Berry and Lindsay will be sophomores. Pimpton a senior, Green a junior, and whole OL will have at least a year of experience. Billiot a RS sophomore, Parker a senior, Watkins a RS sophomore, plus Meadows, Wright, and Francis as year twos.

If Nuss does decide to go pro after this year, I'm very curious if Underwood gets an opportunity from the coaching staff to start his true freshman year. He's that good, but I understand it's a usually pretty rare to see true freshmen come in and start day 1. Especially when you have a power 5 school opening day.
Edit: Part of me hopes that Nuss comes back one more year and then Underwood gets the keys going into his redshirt freshman year.

Portnoy said he'd put up 3 million for a qb for michigan.
Even if he's locked in, that can't be good.

If this is true, I wonder how Portnoy's pledge affects the situation.
