maybe...Auburn finished 16th in the NCAA in total offense, only Florida from the SEC finished higher. Although total offense is a stat to be taken in context...unless you're on the Rant and bashing LSU, of course

He was being serious. Though I would like to point out that Harris is most interested in getting ready for his NFL career. Malzahn's offense is great for college, shitty for preparing him for the pros. In the end we're lucky to have Cameron because he's arguably the best NFL QB coach of the last decade.
Cam Newton is an athletic freak with size and a huge arm. But he's having lots of trouble transitioning to the NFL. Mainly because of the transition from college to the pros. I bet he would sacrifice some stats for wins instead

And for those of you saying Malzahn's offenses have been bad, you have no idea what you're talking about. Only in 2011, where he had Moseley starting and Chizik slowing him down considerably, did his offense not thrive. We were in the top 20 in offense in 2009, and yall are saying we were awful?

The point is the kid wants to be used in a style of offense where he is actually used as opposed to what Miles has been running while at LSU. I respect that and he is right, he would be better suited in an offense that will actually utilize his abilities.
but Auburn's offense the last several years(OTHER tha Cam Newton's contribution himself) has been BAD!

Malzahn just let Cam Newton be Cam Newton. The result. A national title, but there was nothing genuis behind what Malzahn did.

I like to use stats against real competition.
LSU 31
Auburn 10 / 193 total yards / 81 passing / 112 rushing. 7 of your points, and 80 of your yards came off the last drive of the game against scrubs.
You needed flee flickers and trick plays to even make the Alabama game a..well, a game.
After your 5-0 start against OOC schools and Tennesssee(lol), you scored these offensive points against SEC teams
vs Arkansas - 23 offensive points
vs Kentucky - 7 offensive points
vs LSU - 10 offensive points
vs Ole Miss - 22 offensive points
vs Georgia - 14 offensive points
vs Alabama - 21 offensive points

Yeah. Anyone who watched college football that year knew Auburn was an awful team offensively and defensively

I'm a college football fan. Auburn's offense hasn't been all that it's billed up to be under Malzahn.

You might want to check out the 2009 Auburn offense with Chris Todd at quarterback. It set records, and such. Check it out.

Thank you, sir, for doing my homework for me. I thought that was the year I was thinking of. You obviously remember that year also. That was the year that Auburn looked like the best offense of all time...AT THE BEGINNING of the year! The announcers had put Malzahn above Jesus Christ on the respect list, but then the reality set in. Auburn had done that against a bunch of what cupcake teams...call cupcakes. They come into Tiger Stadium and LSU whips them like a mule. Funny, how Malzahn's supposedly elite offense grind to a halt against the talent and athletic ability that LSU had on that team. As I remember, that game was over EARLY, and the most talked about Auburn player in the game was the PUNTER. My understanding is he is still trying to get his share of residuals for that game.

Yep, actually it is theoretically possible to have more than one team with a bad offense or a bad defense. And for those who criticize LSU's passing game like I have done over the years, compared to Army, LSU looks like Stanford in the passing game. I believe either last year or the year before last, Army had a grand total of 0 TD passes. As Einstein would say, "it's all relative."

LSU is a better fit for him. He likes competition and Anthony Jennings/Haydon Rettig will give him plenty next fall.
