I didn't say that, Hands, in fact, I find it amazing how many NFL Offensive Linemen come from the MAC and WAC. That's a whole lot of the big boys missing these kids.

You guys are idiots. Seriously. I've been to ULL, the strength staff and equipment at ULL isn't even close to LSU. The type of players you are playing against at ULL aren't going to be the same calibur as you will at LSU, save for the 3 homecoming games you will play OOC. It's widely known that players who have access to the best strength and training programs and play against he best competition will be better than if they went to a program that doesn't have those things. It's a fact. It doesn't mean that he can't make the NFL. There are talented guys from small schools that do it all the time, but those guys could've been better heading into the NFL if they played stiffer competition that pushed them to be better, stronger, and faster. Common sense. It's why in youth leagues we have All-Star teams, select teams, we send kids to summer camps to get better at a sport and play and learn with the best, because the more they do, the more potential they end up reaching earlier.

I seriously can't stop laughing at this. These ULL fans tryin to play with the big boys because they've beatin big ole ECU in the very, highly repsected Carrier bowl. Then talkabout how succesful they've been sending players to the nfl.this is litteraly as good as it gets for your program. and it's pathetic, honestly

Dipshit, none of us are saying that Boutte is going to flip. What we're saying is that it doesn't fricking matter where you play college ball. You think Jahri Evans is mad that he went to Bloomsburg?Wait, he signed a 7 year $57 million contract? Maybe he would have gotten 60 if he went to Auburn.

70% of NFL starters in the NFC on the OL are from BCS schools.(I dont' have the time nor the desire to look at non-starters, afc, etc.) It's possible to make it from smaller schools if you get on the team and put in the effort, but reality is you stand a better chance to start in the NFL if you don't go to a smaller school.
Evans is an outlier, not the norm.
Nowhere have I accused anyone of saying Boutte was flipping. My original post said he would be looked at more favorably by the NFL if he played at LSU against better competition.
Again, people trying to spin an argument.

Judging by your grammar, it looks like you didn't even go to LSU. Tell me, how many players does your alma mater send to the NFL....BRCC of course.
All joking aside, I gotta give ULL credit. They've been recruiting a decent number of three star recruits, which is very respectable for a program like theirs and it adds up. Not to mention, that same team came within a few plays of beating the same team that the "big boy" team couldn't even score a touchdown against.

Oh what about Bentley-ULL corner starting as a rookie for Detroit last year? Amongst others! and he has as good a chance if he produces because the pro WILL FIND HIM!!

There it is
Everyone's been waiting for this gem. Normally a ULL fan would throw something like this into the fire early

I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever be worried about losing talent to ULL

Well we both know that little ole ULL can't play with the same teams the "big boys" play with. Remember?

30% of a given population can't be made up of outliers. If that is the case, it's flawed data or a dumbass interpreting it. By the looks of this argument, I'll call it the latter.

I see a lot of penis envy in this thread...

"play with" and "win" are two different things and is what separates the LSUs and Fla's from the USLs.

ULL fans deal with it. You will never be lsu. Huey Long picked lsu. You fail to compare to lsu in anything. Lsu is just flat out better. The only things you have going for you is an almost win vs florida and an illegitimate game that was played in the superdome last year. anyone with half a brain knows this game should have never happened. In other words, your greatest victory did not include ULL winning.
Regardless, lsu has won the nations best conference 4 times since 2001. in addition, no one puts more players in the nfl than lsu.
I especially enjoy how people pull the exception to rule out in these discussions. There are plenty more NFL O linemen from bcs schools than Towson type schools.
If boutte picks ULL, then he's a misguided kid and lsu will still be lsu and ULL will still be ULL.

Can't we just let ULL have their moment in the sun ?
Haven't the years they have spent in The Wilderness earned them that courtesy ?

The argument would be that he would have made more during his first contract. His 2nd contract is a product of his production on the field in the NFL. It has nothing to do with the college he played for.
Any kid who is coveted by a school like LSU and instead chooses a school like UL Lafayette is only hurting himself.

This thread is so hilarious.

Lets use jarvis landry as an example. If he went to ull. Teams would concentrate on him more and double cover him. Having way more talent around him helps him out. And lsu coaches and facilities shite all over ull's. Yes you can get to the NFL from a smaller school but the numbers and chances arent as good. Fact

Evans started as a rookie because the starter got hurt. He played well enough and has been a beastly starter since. There are very few OGs as good as Evans to get the $57M contract which makes him quite unique from OGs from other smaller schools and thus not the norm, hence an outlier.
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
