JMc was ranked 36th and 46th composite for his position as a dual threat I believe..

Brennan is ranked 22 and 28. Already possible fringe 4 star. According the 247 there are only 4 uncommitted pro-style quarterbacks ranked ahead of him.

Quarterback position fills up quite fast.. LSU wanting to take 2 quarterbacks did a wonderful thing getting this guy when there are only 4 others left ranked above him.. 2 of which are from California I think..

Those Elite 11 guys really like Goff, I mean Brennan - a little piece I came across dated April 12th, from the SunHerald about the Opening in New Orleans...

I don't -think- this has been posted.

Some comments:

quote:

ESPN's Derek Tyson said Brennan, who has passed for 11,045 yards and 117 touchdowns in two Class 4A South State title runs, said he was impressed with the rising senior's "arm talent."

Tyson later compared Brennan to 2016 four-star Miami signee Jack Allison.

"Great arm and smooth delivery," he said.

quote:

The comparisons didn't stop there as the Elite 11 staff compared Brennan to Goff, the Cal QB who will potentially be the top signal caller taken in the upcoming NFL draft.

Here's what Elite 11 president and general manager Brian Stumpf had to say about Brennan, via Bleacher Report recruiting analyst Sanjay Kirpalani:

"It's hard to tell on tape because he throws for a ton of yards. He has some good throws on tape. He's a bit lanky. So halfway through the camp, because he's blond, tall and skinny, we started calling him Jared Goff a little bit because that's who he reminds us of in high school. He's pure throwing the football. He's got some real traits as you look at how he could potentially fill out. He's obviously well-versed in the passing system because he gets a ton of reps for his high school team in terms of seeing different coverages and chunking the ball around the yard. If you put him in the right system in college, it's easy to see that this guy could throw for 10,000 or 12,000 yards in his college career."

In this video, MaxPreps calls Brennan the number one returning high school QB... looks pretty impressive to me.

Here's a text Q&A with Brennan by the Clarion-Ledger, about how the commitment happened. Always like these reads...

LINK

quote:

TCL: Is your recruitment over now or do you still plan to take visits to other schools?

MB: Yes, sir. That’s one reason why I didn’t wait to go home and then call and then commit. It’s rare for someone to commit on the spot, but I wanted to shake the coach’s hand and look him in the eyes and say that I am committed to him and committed to LSU and it’s over. I’m an LSU Tiger and that’s that.

ETA: I see you edited and beat me

Yeah, that's quite special.

I am very impressed by him from a psychological standpoint.. Never mind how natural he looks throwing the football. He sounds like a leader and very confident in himself. Again not from a physical standpoint. His mental makeup and smarts. I believe he excels in school too.

That's great stuff. They call him Goff because of the blonde hair. Ha!

He will never play in that kind of system at LSU, but that's ok.

He honestly reminds me a little bit of a high school Peyton Manning. Obviously Peyton was way ahead mentally (maybe ahead of every QB ever), but physically they look similar. Myles will need to work hard in the weight room to be an SEC starter one day.

I like this kid a lot. I saw him play a couple times and have been following him a while. ST.s is a very good high school program and they play good competition. This kid is salty and is going to compete to see the field.

Peyton could move back in the day

He wasn't always the rusty car engine he is today.

Just listened to him on the Prince and Cul (forgot the rest if his name). Brennan said he loved competition and if lsu brought in the top qb in the country he wouldn't care.

He's already got the height, but he's probably 185 soaking wet right now. He needs to add muscle for sure and I think that and improving his footwork will have a huge impact on the velocity of his throws.

Mainly because he's not physically developed. He's got a lot of room to grow.
