Bates or Blackmon

thats a tough one, but at least we'll get to see both of these bookends eating SEC QBs for years to come

I think Bates gets moved to MLB unless he gets a lot bigger. He has great ability to shed blockers and is fast enough to play MLB .

I think you're right, and Blackmon will play DT most likely.

Well, that's the prevailing thought. But I hope both of these guys can make an impact.

Defensive line depth is a large part of what has made LSU great over the years.

Yeah Jordan will probably stay at DE and be a beastly force.

I don't see Bates or Dexter staying at DE.

Dude you are the only hater here. You have like 40 posts and most of them are hating on one of our players or recruits. You suck. Just voicing my opinion.

Blackmon at 6'4" 278# and 4.8 in the 40 according to what Miles told him will likely be a DT.

Some of Thoreauxbred's 40 posts (and he calls me a hater) :

re: Al Woods... (Posted on 7/25/09 at 12:30 p.m. to UrNoG)
space filler

seems like an ole country boy...sort of tries hard but isn't very efficient and has a low football IQ

I have a feeling Cutrera will be on several other teams' and players' highlight reels He is the human Get-Juked-out-of-your-shoes act...

He will never play MLB. Too slow not agile enough. Anyways Chavis likes smaller athletic LB not ones that fit the Bates mold. Our MLB from this class will be Michael Taylor from Ga. He reminds Chavis of Jerrod Mayo. Even Welter has a shot to play inside in this system. Just not Bates.

I have high hopes for Dexter Blackmon. In one article I read, Coach Miles said that Blackmon reminded him of Dorsey!

I think that he may be a diamond in the rough. Watch Bama go after him hard now! Apparently, Blackmon was very impressive at their camp, as well.

I don't know enough about Houston Bates to know where, if, when and how much he will contribute. I hope the best for him, though.
