-Tigers picking up a great pair in Phillip Wright & CJ

-Phillip Wright initially offered his junior season and his stock ride when he ran sub 10.5 100M

-Great time in the 200M & 400M as well. Michigan had three LA kids committed at one time. Shea put his pick in right after the Bayou Splash.

-Now the Tigers are looking for one more WR to fill out the class. Swing for the fences for Ffrench.

-Great to have the Destrehan pipeline going strong especially for 2026 with WR Jabari Mack.

-Wright doesn’t have the stats but he’s a track star and Shea expects him to have a great senior year and could see a rankings pop.

-Brune says to note the turnover after this year for WR and with Bryce coming in as well he needs targets. All these WR offer something different.

-Depending how his senior seasons turns out Wright could see a pop in the rankings and finish top ten in state.

-With scholarships going to 110 instead of 85 look for LSU to take more in state talent moving forward..

-Ffrench is one you swing for the fences on now with 3 WR on board. Mom is from the area. She went to Southern and there are family ties. Announcing on 8/30 which believe is his Mom’s birthday.

-CJ Jimcoily is 6’3 210 and very athletic. Father was at OP Walker when Frank Wilson was coaching there.

-Lots of family in NOLA such as grandma and cousins so they’ll all get to watch him.

-Dad such a huge LSU fan he couldn’t be involved in recruitment. Watches LSU games in the living room with a jersey on

-CJ will be the star position for Blake Baker which is his third safety that is a hard hitter in the box but is also good in coverage.

-Don’t be surprised if on campus he grows into a LB for Baker. 4.3 GPA and let’s see what his frame does.

-Swinging for the fences for Jonah Williams and Bryce Fitzgerald now but even if you get neither you already have two in this class.

-Long term plan with the star position these guys on campus like Kylin Jackson are these taller frame guys.

-Jonah Williams announcement coming on 8/23 new podcast will deep dive more into him.

-Bryce Fitzgerald announcement this month as well and will have an LSU hat on the table 8/17. FSU the team to beat here.

-Big picture of the 2025 class moving closer to #1 right behind Ohio State and Alabama

-Take some big commits to hit #1 but with rankings reshuffling it’s possible.

-NIL has gotten better at LSU

-92 average rating for the LSU class only three schools have that.

-3 star guys have chances to turn into 4*s

-Scholarship increase will be interesting. Have to see what BK does how many do they take in November or January.

-Do they take other recruits later in the year that were on the “back burner”

Thank you as always my friend.

Need to keep the momentum through end of month - Jonah Williams, Ffrench, Mathis, Anding, Mike Tyler are my hopefuls. Who knows on Fitzgerald.

Cap, tell me more about 4* WR commit TaRon Francis. Watched his HUDL and I like it a lot. His name has been overshadowed by other big names we’ve been recruiting, mainly because he committed early, but he seems pretty legit. This WR class is shaping up to be solid. An addition of Ffrench would be ridiculous.

I would hope. I keep seeing "by the end of the month" talked about for Mathis, Anding and Tyler, so who knows when they'll pop.

Obviously Williams, Ffrench and Fitzgerald have their commitment dates announced.

Due to the depth of in state talent annually, I think this will help LSU more than most. You can’t just fill the remaining scholarships with just anyone because they likely won’t play much, so it makes sense to use them on local players with ties to the area.

It’ll be interesting to see exactly what approach they take, but I can see a world where those extra scholarship guys come to LSU for a year or two and use it as a springboard to play at G5 or FCS schools (so kind of the opposite of what top FCS guys are doing right now).

Sounds like a #1 class is possible but we should be in the top 3 regardless and at that point, you’re really just splitting hairs. Really any in the top 5 or 6 would be splitting hairs about the difference.

Top 5 class with the best qb in the country is the same thing as #1, any year.

There is a big drop off after the top 5 classes...

Ohio State - 93.814 - 24 commits
Alabama - 93.368 - 21 commits
LSU - 92.961 - 21 commits
Georgia - 92.681 - 23 commits
Oregon - 92.434 - 14 commits

The #1 class will go to 1 of these 5

Texas about to bleed recruits after the Sark rumor hits. If it gets buried, Texas will end up being Top 2 or 3.
