Bayou Splash Recruiting Podcast 7/24

-Around 30 plus guys invited

-Three different classes from 24-27 will be represented

-Friday is the Bayou Splash. Guys come Thursday evening the event is Friday afternoon. Some guys stay a day some guys stay two days.

-One of the better visitor lists around the country

-Lots of commits going to be there and from all over. Currently #3 class overall

-6 commits in 16 days stretch in July. Getting those guys back on campus is huge

-Dead period starts on the first so this is massive for all the kids coming in

-Bryce had a former teammate pass away so he will not be in attendance

-DJ Pickett recruitment was Corey Raymond back in January he was one of the first prospects he went to see.

-Oregon and Miami made it tough for LSU to hold on but when CR was hired DJ was immediately on campus. He had been to LSU 4 times in 5 months.

-PP7 was a big part in this recruitment as DJ’s family has gotten close to theirs




This is right before Billy put his RPM in

-Jonah Williams coming into town is massive and we know he just announced his commitment date 8/24. Could the Tigers be the favorite to land him? Right now he would be a 5+ Plus.

-RPM picks have been made over time for three different teams. Shea says for a kid playing baseball and football he’s a Jamal Adams type.

-Jay Johnson has rolled out the red carpet as well as the football staff. Gotta love the distance factor and LSU offering both options.

-Jonah visiting Texas on Thursday let’s see if they get into it. LSU has always been in this recruitment. His HS Coach was Blake Baker’s HC so we have a connection.

-Jonah was the first person that Blake Baker came to see when he was hired.

-Jamie Ffrench will be visiting LSU & Miami this weekend. Texas has been presumed to be the leader but not visiting them before the dead period. He will announce 8/30.

-Chad Simmons says that each insider from these schools can convince him he’s going to said school.

-French has family in Louisiana and only three is his family members are in Jacksonville. Shea says don’t sleep on LSU. Too early to call but doesn’t think a done deal to Texas.

-Out of all the WR this one seems to keep people guessing the most. Tigers need to capitalize here with another top 10 WR.

-Billy then puts in a RPM live on the podcast and story. Shea says he always thought between LSU & A&M at the end of the day

-Phillip Wright coming in even though recently committed to Michaigan.

-Commit watch includes a TE and maybe a couple defensive flips. Anding is one to watch

-Fegans between LSU & Auburn but expect Auburn

Moving into 2026

-Brad Davis doing work. Jackson Cantwell coming in from Missouri. Son of two former Olympians.

-Top 5 across the board for 2026. Super early but nice to have him right out of the dead period.

-#1 player Jahkeem Stewart will be on campus. Shea doesn’t see LSU losing out on him in the end. Godfather Frank is leading this recruitment.


-BK has the alignment together with NIL and Bayou Traditions so Billy can’t see LSU losing out in the end

-LA is loaded with DL for 2026 could be special for Bo is he keeps them home.

-Handful of top 50 guys will be there a lot of rising juniors

- JaMichael Garrett 4* LB told Chad Simmons he might announce. Tons of offers. Visiting LSU then Auburn


-Looks like about 5 guys committed to other teams should be on campus
