I'm with max, plus bama has the #1 LB in the country committed so it'll be competition wherever he goes.

Good point. Just wasn't sure how many LBs we were taking with the slew from '12 class. And I take they will both play lb

Beckwith is more of an OLB if anything

ETA: looks like the qb jennings from georgia was in town, seems as if Les won't stop until he gets his dual threat qb

That should be apparent by now. Les has made it pretty clear that he wants a qb that can use his feet in this class. I'm kind of crossed about a 2nd QB. I feel the thought has always been 2 but with so many options(and needs) at other positions, I'm beginning to not want a 2nd qb in the class. How are we going to fit all the DL,OL and DB guys that we want in? Should be fun to watch play out.

I really like the Melvin Jones offer.
Big guy, good with his feet/balance, high intensity player with good closing speed.

I have been wondering about that as well as the class is starting to fill up. Somebody should start a mock class thread.

12 commits currently. offensive side of ball seems challenged to find top quality talent.

ol- tezeno type quality
qb- jennings type quality
wr- parker type quality
rb- taylor

the strength of class may be determined by how we manage offensive spots.

5 instate offers - plus offensive brings total to 21.

4 spots left - gilmore, prevot, herron, pagano

SEEMS LIKE WE NEED A COUPLE MORE SPOTS AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO COME FROM OFFENSIVE SIDE OF BALL.

Glad to hear Jones got his offer. He is a legit 6'3" and 245 lbs and an SEC linebacker.

Quinn is a playmaker regardless of how "white" he is. Watch his freshman and sophomore film on YouTube, it does not lie. I think he would make this state proud as a Tiger, as he did during the LLWS and as he continues to do at Barbe.

I was thinking the same thing. But where do you make room? What do you take away?

Unless Chris Davenport is 6'8, I don't see how jones is 6'3

Not sure how serious you guys are about Quinn in this thread, but Quinn is legit. Kid can flat out play. He reminds me of Josh Reed. ALWAYS open and his YAC has to be ridiculous. May not have elite speed, but the kid is a beast.

Just a little insight on Tre Williams, since I have some friends who play with him and are friends with him…

He grew up a Bama fan, but both Alabama and Auburn have been recruiting him hard and they are his leaders. Most expect him to stay in-state, but it's a tossup as to which school at the moment.

Anyone know where Quinn is projected to go in the MLB draft? How serious of a threat is MLB and if he does play college football is it likely LSU and will he play both sports if he ends up in Baton Rouge.

The way the draft is set up now, if he's not a top 3 or 4 round guy, he'll likely be on campus.

Quinn answered any doubts about having elite speed with a few track meets this season, running some sub 22 second electronic timed 200 meter times. His film answers those questions as well. Guys that cover two steps over five yards ("two steppers") when at full speed are considered to have elite football speed. There was an article on another website that quoted him saying he will take the college football offer first.

It is hard to turn down 1st round baseball money when it is 7 figures. The Perfect Game Baseball website has him in their top 40 for 2014. But I still think he is ours if we offer!

I think Coach Henry is the key, he will get him here!

he is a bad arse. I was responding to the post about him looking like a contest winner. Just hope he doesn't go pro baseball.
