Coach Yarbrough better give him a call.

Manswers, I seen him wear out a 6' 10" guy. Sunday with hooks from hell. I seen him do things he never done on the high school court.

Now we have ammo.A coach who has coached against him and had the chance to coach him.

When his name had 1st come up I asked some people from that area about him assuming Nicholls would be after him. Said coach there doesn't want anyone over 6'6 and then was told Gibby's school is notorious for people not qualifying.
I have absolutely no idea if he has grade issues. Just basing this on what I heard months ago.

PortCityMadMan; I heard that his grades wasn't an issue at all with anyone recruiting him. He's just been under the radar as a highschool player, but look at his numbers they add-up...........

I had heard that was a common thing with players from that school, not with him particularly. I know he has good numbers and I know Trent's staff at least knew about him. The feeling around Thanksgiving(the last time I sought outside info on Gibby) was he was a Southland type player who would go to Northwestern or Southeastern. But appears that may have changed.

I think he became a watch list guy in July at a LSU Elite camp when he played against Hamilton and pushed him around the floor that day. From what the locals in Houma say his best basketball is to come and it will come quickly.

Gibby Talbot signs with LaTech
RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech head coach Michael White added some much-needed size to his Bulldog roster with the signing of Ellender High School center Gilbert Talbot to a national letter of intent.
“We are very excited to be adding such a terrific asset to our program on and off the floor,” said White. “Gibby is very physical and plays extremely hard. He’s long and is a lefty with good touch around the rim.”
Talbot is a 6-foot, 10-inch 265-pound center who played three years of varsity basketball at Ellender High School in Houma, La. He averaged 25.0 points, 15.1 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game this past season and 15.0 points and 10.2 rebounds as junior while leading the Patriots to the second round of the Class 4A state playoffs both years.
As a senior, Talbot was voted all-state by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association as well as all-district and all-region.
“I chose Louisiana Tech because it seems like the best fit for me and is a great environment to go to school,” said Talbot. “Along with the great relationship (I have) with Coach White and the coaching staff, Tech felt like the best place for me to grow as a person.”
Talbot also played baseball and participated in track for three years at Ellender.
“He has the work ethic to become a very good player for us,” said White. “He is also a fine young man and a very good student.”
Talbot joins Alex Hamilton, Jaron Johnson and Demetrius Moore on this year’s Bulldog signing class.

I WANT A 6-10 CENTER ON LSU'S ROSTER DAMNIT
Posted on 5/8/12 at 8:40 pm to RollTigersRoll
I'm glad the kid got a good offer but he isn't what LSU needed. Don't think he's SEC caliber

6'10 and played track and baseball? Thats insane
Posted on 5/8/12 at 10:48 pm to memphstigers23
6'10" is a good thing in baseball if you can pitch. Randy Johnson is a good example. As for track and field, the best high jumpers are a little shorter than that, but it isn't crazy that he could do well.

I play baseball so I understand the height...not a big track guy so never knew. 6'10 guys don't grow on trees. Especially athletic tri sport ones

Played against him in baseball last year. He might be 6-10 but he tops out at like 75. He's not a strong guy at all. Seen him play basketball 3 times this year. Def. not LSU caliber
