Attrition has happened ALOT in baseball the past few years, but you don't see people flipping out like with football.

Basically Reidie and Mormann's scholarships were not going to be renewed in 2011. Instead of Mainieri cutting them he allows them to look at transfering to other schools. Attrition does happen alot in baseball espcially since the roster limitations.

Matulis and Mormann are leaving? Mormann I kind of understand but Matulis...really?
Won't Mormann be a senior? Is he eligible to play right away?

Mormann will have to sit out a year. Wichita St. is a Div 1 school.
I don't understand Matulis leaving early... Possibly due to the fact he will be sitting out a year and wants to be closer to home.

Adam, can you give me any feedback on my question about Mistich? You would think if he's good enough to step in for a CWS caliber team, he could at least contribute here. I understand that this might be one of, if not our best recruiting classes ever, but what about out of HS?

Sorry I missed your question earlier...LSU was following Luquette out of Newnan HS in 09 and had Gibbs firmly holding down a spot for three years. In all honesty the numbers have been tight recently and they didn't want to offer him thinking Luquette would be at the same position.
All in hindsight however.

Adam,
I heard he was doing well after the injury or am I thinking of Forrest Garrett?

From Twitter...
@PatMHickey: Look for Cecchini to sign in the next day or two.

Was reading a Baseball America chat this morning and found this interesting.
Jim Callis: I anticipate a bunch of signing deadline questions, and bring them on. Before we get into them, I'll start by saying that 90 percent or more of the players in the top 10 rounds are expected to sign, and in many cases deals (or at least bonus terms) are in place. MLB is clamping down on teams releasing any information before MLB wants, so many of the deals won't become public before the weekend

So he's an amateur jock sniffer? On that note I'll disregard his info until something more substantial comes along.

Does anyone else just have a bad feeling that we're are going to hit on a couple of these guys in the next few days or is it just me? There's all kinds of rumors going around now and hopefully they are just that.

Don't know about all of you, but I feel damn good about this class. If you look at last year, ZVR agreed a few days or perhaps a week before school but Colvin signed on 8/17. With only Bedrock and DeShields off the board, I feel good, although I know the teams have until midnight on Sunday to make an offer and most likely will. Guess it is just a hunch. Have a good feeling about AR too. That would certainly make up for the subpar season we had this past year.

IMO you can kiss AR and Garin Cechinni goodbye. Guasman is prolly 50/50 with Lee the most probable to end up on campus. Im sure whoever drafted Jacoby Jones will prolly throw a good bit of money at him considering he was allegedly 1st round talent.
It was planned by MLB that no contact would be made with these guys in the previous weeks. MLB will wait till the last minute and throw a ton of money at the kids so they have a ton of pressure of them and not much time to decide.
