Baseball Recruiting

I know there is a thread but it is very difficult to follow. Who do we have coming in that will be significant? Any good pitching and is there a catcher from The Woodlands, TX, or am I off by a year? Thanks and down vote if need be.

As per usual....Cain is actually pretty good at his job despite what the Rant says.......If they don’t go pro.....we’ll be stacked

Thankfully Cain is a good recruiter. It seems like he has been flying solo. We need to add more support staff to baseball if we want to be #1 again.

Serious question: have you looked at the very first post in the thread?

You really just have to research a little bit to follow baseball recruiting. The front page is a really good reference and MLB.com has a free big board for the draft. We’ve got like 3 ranked pitchers, two ranked catchers and I believe that’s about it. Not saying nobody else has a chance of signing pro, but those are probably the biggest concerns.

Thank you bugafor6! Project you can suck it buddy. That thread just rolls on and basically means very little. Baseball is huge at LSU as you are very aware but your smart arse comment could be kept to yourself.

Dude, every commit we have is posted in the first 5 posts of that thread. That’s why I was seriously asking if you looked there.
Just because you don’t think I’m helping doesn’t mean I’m not actually helping you. But you can go frick yourself for all I care.

The baseball thread, from my knowledge, does not show rankings of the players. Can someone post like the top 10 recruits in order, with their positions listed. And also, who we should keep an eye on in the draft.

No, I realize you bring a lot to the baseball info on this board. I just think there would be more and more like the football recruiting and occasionally the basketball. I just thought there would be more info seeing what the sport means to Tiger fans.

It would help if that thread were yearly & not rolling year to year. The commits are easy to find but it’s a mess to sort through for information about players, the work is appreciated. That criticism isn’t reflective of you
Honestly the recruiting board is probably the one last board on this site that isn’t inundated with crap. I’ve enjoyed the hell out of this board in the last year. But it’s a frickin mess with the stickies & needs better order

I’m planning to change the thread over after the draft signing period.
It’s a pain in the arse, which is why I’ve let it roll a few times. We’ve had two threads for the past 5 classes I think. Both about 65 pages.
They don’t get a lot of participation outside of my updates though. And I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be able to maintain it.

So, I don’t see the catcher from The Woodlands HS. I live in The Woodlands and was going to go watch him play this year. I might be mistaken but I thought in past he had committed to LSU. Maybe I’m overlooking it or my years are not correct. Can you update on him? And if I’m dreaming this up I’m sorry just say never herd of the guy. Thanks!

Drew Romo is playing for the Fresno affiliate of the Colorado Rockies

Appreciate your work on here. Hope you continue it.
There are a handful of excellent baseball posters on tRant that save me time I don't have.

Hoping one of either Moller or Jensen makes it to campus and can grab that Catcher spot....I think Jensen is the most likely, with Moller going pro...
But could be wrong. Accurate rankings on baseball recruits is hard to come by without the right subscriptions I guess

Not steal Project's thunder but just a quick summary of the impact players.
C Moller, C Jansen and Luke Leto are known for big bats but limited defensively, Travinski type players. Their draft value will be on how pro scouts view their defensive abilities. They are all 50/50 making it to campus. I think Moller and Leto are the most likely but just a guess mostly.
P Kudrna, P Lansville and P Selvidge are the arms most likely to go pro. Kudrna seems unlikely to make it to campus. The other two will have their choice. If they want the college experience and a chance to improve their stock, they will come.
Eyes will mostly be on those 6 players when draft arrives.
I wouldn't sleep on IF Connor Smith either.

Moller is all over the place depending on where you read about him. Some say he has good defensive potential with a suspect bat, other places the opposite. Either way it’s obvious he will have to be developed.

So maybe Travinsky is best bet at catcher ...??
But yea.... baseball recruiting is a bunch of conflicting info.
One site said Grant Taylor was a 5 star pitcher. Kudrna a three star.
But then KUDRNA is supposedly our biggest draft risk.
