Right...looks like we need to destroy and rebuild. People can say what they want but to compete at the top we need top athletes. Sure every so often you have teams that play beyond expectations...overacheive...and even then thats with good coaches (and we dont have that)but for the most part its with top tier players and we are starting not to have that. Get rid of Allevea and Ogeron...its not just about PS2 and countless others...its the totality of everything!

Take your own advice. If O fails he fails. But you think the turnaround is easy if we don't have players for a new coach?

Really? Our fanbase sucks.

Honestly? Rock bottom isn't scary, a lot of grit and mettle is gained there. It allows for growth and self-reflection. Miring away in mediocrity and staying there is way worse than rock bottom and change.

I’m with you

I still like to have Chase and burn.. then maybe the new coach can do better with as much talent as we can get

We are just so pissed at having O as coach we say things we may not mean.. like I hope he goes elsewhere.. in thought that maybe things need to get as bad as possible to get us to that new chapter faster. But in reality they can still get bad enough and we should still want Chase

But we finish 7-5 with athletes the next two years then O gets fired. But you would rather 3-9 two years in a row?

Given our leadership and fanbase, I'm not sure 7-5 gets O fired, that's the "miring away" I'm talking about.

Even then, you'd look at 7-5, 7-5, new coach, 7-5, maybe 10-3 or something.

At this point in time, it's going to be painful. It may be 3-9 for two years. It may be 6-6 for 3. We need someone to rebuild the program and that will take at least 2 years. Why not start now than in 2 years?

This would be incredible. At this point, I almost want him to go to Auburn.

Why wouldn't it? Miles was winning more than that and got canned. But if you tell me 3-9 next year would pull the trigger...then maybe. But I can never cheer against LSU.

Good God I want Chase, but if him going to Auburn gets O fired, then it wouldn't be the end of the world.

The problem is not the head coach. The problem is the administration. Since Emmertt left LSU and the old "good ole boy" took over - it's been business as usual. They want to win, but want to win on the cheap. They are not behind any coach that's making more money than they are. Case in point, when the Governor of Louisiana makes the national news by saying the coaching salaries need to stop, what does that tell you. Moreover, they are stripping funding from LSU layer by layer. It's like they can't see the forest thru the trees. They are a bunch of educated idiots. Football is an investment that will pay huge dividends, ask Bama!
