It’s time to focus our efforts on this kid before we miss out all together. He is a damn good back and it’s time to reel him in! Too many people “in the know” pointing Evans to Georgia. Let’s go get Johnson....now!

Reminds me a lot of the Etienne situation

Except losing out on Etienne left the cupboard bare.
We have Emery and Tyrion now.
So no.

The year of Akers, pretty sure we had some decent backs in the cupboard.

List them then.
When you’re done I’ll compare them to Emery and Tyrion.
Do you have facts or did you just feel like arguing?

And I’m not against getting Ashaad.

I agree. This can only help any chance we have with Van Pran as well. The question will become who gets dropped that’s currently committed. We have a spot open for Guillory, Dumervil, Van Pran, and Ojulari/Webb if they want it so someone will have to get dropped.

Ashaad is an elite back and there wouldn't be a major drop off compared to Evans IMO. So I agree they should bump him up on the list and go get him.

No one knows. He hasn't really taken any visits or done interviews.

He has an offer. Are you trying to suggest it’s not commitable?

I am one of those who believe we don't NEED a RB this cyle. We will return CEH, Curry, Emery and Davis next year. If getting Ashad helped our chances with Van Pran, I am all for it. I wouldn't even necessarily mind if just got Johnson, just don't think RB is a priority this cyle. Guillery, Dumerville, and the 2 good Linebacker prospects I'd be fine with. Again, not a knock on Ashaad. He is going to be good. It just so happens we have two VERY good freshman backs that do not make RB a make or break position in this class. May Also help reeling in an elite back in next years cyle. just my thoughts.

You need a RB every cycle, if not 2

I just happen to disagree. Again, CEH, Curry, Emery Davis will all be back next year. We can grab 2 next year if we need, and enter the following season with Curry, Emery, Davis, and the 2 new freshman. I think landing the best RB Class in the nation last year makes RB not a priority this year. I want to reiterate, I like Johnson. Have NO problem with the coaches taking him, even without Van Pran. Just don't think we "need" him this year.

That's a big assumption in college football these days.

Disclaimer*. I don’t know shite about recruiting.

Let’s just get two rb next year.

There are no top OL in La next year. I understand that may change as they grow a year etc.

We are already thin. Three Ol are already missing some practices (for whatever reason).

There are 3-5 good rb next year and we got two really good ones last year.

You're right. Injuries / transfers could happen. I happen to think our depth chart is set up nicely to keep everyone "happy". Everyone is going to get their touches. Curry has the Darrel Williams feel to him. Kid is going to put his work in, and show out when called on. I'm excited to see him run this year. I hope he is a bowling ball.

I agree. People on here have never heard of injuries. CEH is good but has a ceiling. Curry is still an unknown. Emery looks like the immediate future. Davis, while I believe he will be good, is not proven out yet.

We must have at least one RB this cycle
