Not a major drop off but def a drop off. Evans is an elite back. AJ is a good back

Omg.. you know what that man means geez... don't be that guy. He means it could be a repeat of the Etienne situation as in us playing the waiting game and losing a special talent to another school.

Remind us who the Recruiting Coordinator was during that season and who the HC was on Signing Day.

We skipped RB the class BEFORE Fournette. Like to recap how that worked out for us?

HINT: We did just fine. Last season was about the lowest ‘star studded’ RB room we have had since before Faulk. And we are fine at this time as well.

If I recall that was more of a promise to him.

They skipped one in 2016 too and only got 1 in 2017, and you saw what happened last year. Ugly

Just saw he got a Bama offer, I wonder if there’s real smoke

nah, but it does say something about how Bama feels about Evans... essentially signals, at least in my experience, that they feel pretty out of it for Evans now, considering they waited so long before offering Johnson... seems they are not very confident, at all, about Evans and are moving on to other backs they feel they may have a shot with...

basically means it's a UGA-LSU battle for Evans, with UGA leading right now...

RB was NOT out problem last year... so not sure where you are trying to run with that one.

OMG
What are you 13?
He made a statement I disagreed with and responded.
If posting actual “facts” makes me “that guy” then I guess I’m that guy.

Name a worse RB group at LSU in the last 20 years

I agree that we should go ahead and press for Johnson’s commitment now. I don’t think we have enough recruiting budget left for RBs to win the Evans sweepstakes and I think Milton is locked into UGA regardless of what Evans does.

The only difference between Johnson and Etienne’s situation is I don’t see a Clemson involved in his recruitment that he could say peace out and go to where it would be a better situation than LSU.

Kansas and Bama seem to be the other two teams mentioned often and I don’t see Bama as a legit option. I think he’ll be ours when it’s time I just wish we’d go ahead and make that move.

He’s better than good. I’d say Johnson is well above average and could be an impact guy in the SEC

I don’t often agree with Lester but LSU is known for its RB’s and we didn’t see that last year.
In past years we just knew one of them was about to break one for a TD, last year didn’t have that feel.

No... the real question is are you 13? You don't have to be an arse about it.. you know exactly what the guy meant. He wasn't talking about the rb depth.. he was referring to a specific rb. And that's not disagreeing.. that's you being a smart arse

We should take a running back every year. However, we should take four offensive linemen every year, and you never pass on great talents like Koy Moore and Guillory. So something has to give. Out of these three things I would prioritize offensive line first and can’t miss talent second. I’d sacrifice running back, unless it’s can’t miss five star talent.

Skipping in 2016 made 2017 a year in which we needed two very good running backs. We signed one - and Helaire is okay, but he’s not a feature back for a championship level team. It was the combination of no backs in 16 and 1 journeyman back in 17 that was the problem.

No one here is suggesting we skip RB in 2020 and just sign one three star next year.

I already stated that (see my post above).

Again, RB was NOT a problem.

Give me OL, then ‘best available’ also

Just because it wasn’t a “problem” doesn’t mean it wasn’t substandard. Worst backfield in 2 decades because of how we recruited those years. You need a RB every year & they know this

Right, so you can cry next year when they have to take 3-4 RBs in that class? Cmon now

You don’t want to go into 2020 with 4 RBs on the roster anyway. Then you have to treat curry as a transfer candidate after this year.

Not when you got 2 the prior year and OL is a GREATER need.

Listen, if we get Evans or Ashaad, then great. I’ll be super excited. But give me Dumerville, SVP, or at least 2 other lineman as a priority before RB in THIS years class.
