If anybody wants to see the best high school tight end in the state, tune in to the ASH V. WEST MONROE semi final game Friday night. Shield Taylor has been mauling guys all season while lined up mostly as a H back and creating huge holes. He also has good hands. He is 6’4 , 235lbs and is committed to Stanford. He is very smart and a great kid ,who will really excel at Stanford, on and off the field.

I don't know shite about the kid (take your word for it that he's a baller), but I love me a TE/FB that loves hitting people.

Great for the young man. I doubt ASH has sent many tight ends to Stanford.

Had to go back mak sure it wasn't Samford.

Agreed- I don’t recall any central Louisiana kids getting a football scholarship to Stanford. Great opportunity for the young man. It is fun to watch him finishing off his blocks to see if he gets a pancake.

How does he compare to Jalen Shead?

Both are about the same height ,weight and are 3 stars though most scouting services have Taylor rated a little higher. Taylor seems to be a more physical blocker while Shead appears to be faster and more fluid as he also plays basketball.

This is the kind of kid you take and try to turn him into an offensive tackle.

I ran in to him at the ASH stadium, I thought he was a college grad on the staff. He is as physically mature as any kid I have ever seen. Seems like a great kid. Was very helpful to me that day.

He lit Zachary up all night long, I hope to see the same Friday night.

I was thinking the same thing. He would be a great offensive tackle.

Seems like Deculus he is an above average pass protector but he has a lot of trouble getting to the second level linebacker in time and forget about pulling him. We do need better athletes at tackle and nothing better than a smart, tall, rangy former tight end who can block.

Dude is a beast! I wish LSU would offer him, but with his scholastic achievements he probably would still go to Stanford.

Yea... that's great for him.

If I'm getting offers for Stanford, I don't care if Bama, Clemson, LSU, OSU call me... I'm going to Stanford.

You can't replace that education.
