LSU has offered a scholarship to 2016 four-star pro-style quarterback Dwayne Haskins from Potomac, MD (The Bullis School) according to Adam Friedman with Rivals.

Haskins is rated as the No. 4 player in the state of Maryland and the No. 4 overall pro-style quarterback in the country according to Rivals.

We got 2 pro style QB's (1 is walk on) in 2015 class. And now we offer another pro style QB for 2016.

I wish our fans would get over the "pro-style" vs "dual threat" QB crap.

Franks plays like a pro style QB as well even though he's classified as a DT

Give 'em a break..It's just that they haven't seen one in a while UNLESS the light goes off this spring in Brandon's head.

Jennings was listed as a pro style QB in HS. I really don't think McMillan is so much of a drop back pocket passer either.

Miles has recruited lots of these guys, but if he has an athletic running qb, they all sit.

I rather the DT personally.

A lot of the bigger schools have had success with them.

As long as they are accurate passers the running is just a bonus.

Seeing the whole field and checking down equals success.

same here. All duel threat means is that the QB is athletic and mobile enough to run. That's generally regarded as a good thing. Felipe Franks is big, accurate, has a great arm, and can also run, thus he is classified as a dual threat.

Are you referring to Auburn in particular? If so then there is night and day difference between LSU's and Auburn's skill players.

there is no 'paramount shift'. We have been and will continue to recruit the best QB's that we can get on campus. There have been some hits and there have been some misses. Duel threat/pro style means nothing in regards to who we recruit.

IDGAF if they're pro-style or dual threat, as long as they can WIN.

I would agree with you to certain extent, but dual threat QB's have a natural tendency to escape the pocket as soon as they feel some pressure. There are very few dual threat QB's who will step up into the pocket and throw a ball when they know they are about to get lit.

I'd like a quarterback who would actually threaten to duel someone. Entertainment at its highest level.....................................................................................

You mean a paramount shift since Tues when we send LOI papers to Gibson hoping he would sign?

Yep you nailed it.

I watched every available film on Franks. IMO he is a pro style QB that can run when necessary.
