Anyone think we need an experienced tight end?

Perhaps D1or juco transfer?

Assuming Gilbert is gone, we will have a sophomore, true freshman and a bunch of walkons.

We were thin at TE with Gilbert.

There are a lot of TEs in the portal (there’s a lot of everything).

Glen Beal is transferring from A&M to ULL.

I guess Jamal Pettigrew should’ve stuck around.

I’m not convinced Gilbert is gone but that might be my purple and gold glasses

Josh Pederson

Doug Pederson’s son. He’s a grad transfer and only has 1 year. Should try to get him to walk-on. His dad’s an NFL head coach. He can afford it.

Watch the film of this kid we got today out of Mississippi. He is going to be good.

Taylor is going to be good also. Just needs to put on 20 lbs

I like them both, but the depth and experience is not ideal.

What is this based on?

He apparently doesn’t like to block. Is Shead ready to be our blocking tight end?

I like that they aren't similar in any way. Shead can be used as a weapon in run blocking as well as being a competent receiver. Taylor is just a matchup nightmare at his size in the passing game. Once he gets to about 255, he's going to be a dude.

I don't think there is any factual basis for this rumor

I doubt Gilbert himself knows if he's staying or not.

Even if Gilbert is gone it isn’t a must. We have so many weapons at wide receiver that you don’t really have to have a tight end. You can bring in an extra lineman to block if the young guys were just that bad which I don’t think they would be
