Does Jennings or Rettig get a legitimate shot as the starting QB this fall or is it Mettenberger

Of course they have a chance, but for a green kid to beat out a veteran guy with NFL upside is extremely unlikely.

I hope he is allowed a fair shot to be the starter in 2013.

I feel you on this however I would much rather let him take a redshirt and let Mett run the offense. Mett has the experience now. Our young QB's should just sit back and learn the offense. Their time will come. We can't forget about Rivers either. His time will come as well.

I hope ANY of them get some playing time this year, so we're not back at square one again after this upcoming season.

I agree. Mett got through his first year of major college football and hopefully the experience and knowing what has to work on will help him greatly for the upcoming season if he applies himself. As for the young guys, it would likely be better for them to learn, as opposed to forcing them out there to early and ruining there confidence at a position like QB, where everthing is dependant on you.

....so the work ethic is there

the ability to move out the way of a defender is there to. I think he ends up 2nd on the debt chart this year. Kid seems to have that it factor.

I absolutely agree.

By game 6 he's the backup IMO.

ETA:

Can we please blow out some teams early so young guys get experience? Thank you!

Not bashing anyone....just asking a question.

It's Mettenberger all the way next year. If there's any injury to him early, it's Rivers. If there's an injury to him late, then it's possible that the competition could've caught up to Rivers by then, but that's not likely.

Rivers could be good, btw...we'll see in 2014.

What are the odds that Turdberger ever did something like this? Maybe he can learn.

Shaq White, similarly, has a strong work ethic. He will not let 5 stars and the association with Mo Claiborne give him any false illusions. He will work hard for starting time, and I think he will earn it. Starting CB by mid-2013 season if not earlier.

In the Elite 11 competition, the interviews showed how coachable Jennings is. Les Miles will like his "want," which will be high "quality."
