Why go to Bama to take pressure off of the no. 1 receiver? And not know if anybody there will even be able to get the ball to him? If he comes to LSU he will have a great QB situation his entire time here and HE can be THE MAN with others taking the pressure off of him. That's exactly what Saban would be telling him if it were the other way around, and it's a more compelling argument by far. The "taking pressure off of Jones" argument is lame on it's face. That's just a pretty way of saying you'll be second fiddle.

Not really if he still doesn't know where hes going. Kinda hard to commit when its split 50/50 between the schools, right? RR probably has a idea where hes going but isn't completely sold yet.

Saban has done a good job selling to him, LSU just needs to close harder and I think we'll land him. I think he'll end up at LSU. Would break my Tiger heart to see him catching TDs all over us on Saturdays . But seriously, if he thinks that is what is best for him, then you can't blame him for the decision right? I just hope this board acts a little more mature but I know that is asking a lot on TD, filled with 13yr old kids, gumps and LSU fan posers.

Dmitch man, I'm sure you know this but their is a lot more competent Tiger forums you can read. This is by far the most incompetent one.

LSU still has a great chance to land him. This is the only board I know of that has doomsday scenario written all over it. The premium boards seem to feel good about RR to LSU too.

What you posted isn't really new info anyway.

Because he played for Southlake Carroll, which is an absolute juggernaut in Texas. Can you say "product of the system?"

If they're not enjoying the process, then why not go ahead and commit? That's a good sign for us IMO. I'll be rooting for the young man wherever he goes, as long as he isn't playing against us that week.
Gump said it more gracefully than I did...

For the record, I'm not a hater, and hope like hell he comes to BR, my only point was that if he hasn't committed by now to me that seems to favor Bama.

Shepard is a qb and that's all he'll be and if Randle wants to be hated in La more than any recruit that has ever left the state, then he can be our guest. He has a chance to be THE MAN of our receiving corps and be a hometown hero. Yeah, spurn that to be second fiddle to Jones and have ego maniac Satan scream at you for two years until he bolts for Notre Dame, Michigan or elsewhere.

All Randle has to do is look at how LSU has misused Terrance Toliver since TT has been here.

Misused? OK so he sat behind two very talented upperclassmen his freshman year, but still managed to get on the field as a freshman.

Then his sophomore year he had a little work ethic issue, got passed up by Chris Mitchell, who had a very good first half of the season.

Then TT came on in the second half of the season and ended up having a good year.

Now he is in line to start alongside LaFell in his junior year, with two years to elevate his game to NFL levels.

I really don't see how we've "misused" him. He was young. We had other good receivers. That is how it goes...doesn't matter how many stars you had coming outta HS.

I want RR to commit just as much as any LSU fan, but I think some of the arguments I've been reading in this thread are a bit misguided. Some of you act as though LSU is guaranteed a great passing game in the years to come and that it would be foolish to consider Bama. Perhaps RR thinks to himself "Well, Jefferson has really only had 1 good game, Lee and Hatch haven't shown anything thus far, and it's questionable whether or not Shepard will ever possess the ability to distribute the ball against SEC defenses."

Some of you interpret everything in a hopeful context.

(This is a general post to the board)

Why post "anti-recruit" or "potential backlash" statements on the internet anyway?

If you are truly a fan, why would you leave yourself wide open like that.

There are plenty of recruits, their friends, and family members that come by the boards without posting or identifying themselves. Just to get an idea of the rumors that are going around. Believe me, dmitch is visiting Bama boards as well. I know I do because I visit Tenn boards regarding J. Jackson.

I went to school with Janzen Jackson's step-mom who has been in his life since he was two years old and she is a good friend of my relative. Yet, I have not bothered them about this process because it is ridiculous how schools, media, and general public are all over high school "student athletes". Not one person has mentioned a word about Randle choosing a school that may be better for his major. It's been about him satisfying you by catching a damn football at LSU where you may not attend one game. Hell, the people talking the most may not have attended LSU or ever played a sport in their life and claim to understand what he is going through.

You don't know who I am. Who I know. Or who I may be related to.

You so-called "Biggest LSU Fans" could be harming the school you claim to love so much more than you know by being so obsessed.

In closing, I can tell you that this board is not the factor that sways a recruit in the end, but it affects their friends and families that speak to them on a regular basis. What do you think they will tell him after this thread?

I'm as much an LSU fan as anyone, but I have to tell you that I haven't seen anything like this on Bama's boards. Maybe it's because RR is from another state so the passion is not the same, but the point is that I still don't see them posting things like some the entries I've seen today.

Remember that Recruits, Friends, and Family Members come by these boards, periodically, without posting or identifying themself. It's just to read and get a feel for what's in the air.

You don't know who I am. I might be a recruit or father of a recruit.

Some just need to think and be more reasonable. Others need to get a life.

Good post...i think a ton of LSU fans are really just passionate about their football squad and that sometimes borders obsessive..but i can guarantee you no school has more passionate fans than that of LSU..youre right, hopefully these jackasses who come on acting like they know it all, spewing shite out of their potholes will go away or get banned.

TT was also way more raw than RR is now and he still saw the field. TT and RR are on different levels coming out of HS. TT had a unbelievable ceiling of potential that was completely raw, while RR is ready now and is much more polished. Coming out of HS, RR is the best WR prospect in Louisiana since Reggie Wayne. Not saying hes going to have that kind of career, I'm just saying coming out of HS now, hes the best WR since RW.

I noticed throughout the season, despite him not getting a lot of catches, TT was definitely maturing. He'll have a breakout season next year when everyone is doubling Lafell.

Good post....that being said this is a huge message board, i have never been to another schools message board where there was so many other schools fans posting. I mean hell we have a board just for sec fans. If Bama has a free message board like this Id like to have that link and Im not talking about a rivals or scout board

what i think some fans misunderstand, is that most HS coaches do not "push" their players to go anywhere. It's not their decision. Any good coach realizes that.

If Randle doesn't come here, fine. Let the kid go in peace. 1)He doesnt owe LSU anything. 2)LSU doesn't not "own" him because he is from LA. I just dont see why people(grown men) cannot be happy for an 18 year old kid, regardless where he goes.

No problem.

I was giving a hypothetical regarding possibly "being a recruit" because I know that they visits sites. I know fans don't want to turn recruits off, but I just want you to know that it's real. These are not private rooms. Don't think that a player or coach from a competing school won't get this emailed to them so they can put it in front of the recruit and his family. You guys had the privilege of actually having the recruit's brother in here as it traspired. Great move for those that made the irrational posts.

I hope that fans do a better job of being fans int he future. Most of the posters are pretty good, but it only takes a few.

Lastly, have your site admin be sure they aren't allowing imposters from rival schools pose as LSU fans and misrepresent you on your boards. It happens often.

Have a great one. Hope you receive my post well. The future is bright for LSU. Relax and enjoy those that wear the uniform. They deserve All of your energy as fans. Don't cheat them by giving part of it to Saban, Orgeron, or anyone else.

Geaux Tigers!

Not everyone posting is a LSU fan. You have to keep that in mind, notice the low posting count of some posters? That usually indicates someone created a alt account to attack the RR family "claiming" to be a LSU fan. Secondly, this board has a lot of really young posters, most of which are 13-17 yrs old. They haven't really followed much LSU until the past few years and of course are naive, going to post dumb ****. Lastly, my favorite, you have bandwagon fans that have only followed LSU since their first NC year with Saban and don't know anything about growing pains with the program.

I think personally, Chicken needs to shut this board down until NSD. Its gotten to the point where its almost unreadable and the only thing it can do at this point, is cause more damage than good. This site needs stricter admins, especially since its so big. Right now its probably the most incompetent forum I've seen and that is including all the Bama forums I've visited. I'm to the point where I'm personally going to stop posting on the recruiting board until NSD, its horrible.
