One of the best part about this board is that the admins let you post whatever, for the most part. I mean you have to type something pretty bad or be persistently annoying to get banned, and even then the admins let most people back after a brief "timeout".

Oh I agree to this part, its fun to talk trash, but I don't know that it projects a great image to recruits when the trash talk is about them...

Because you think you are smarter than everyone else theres no way he could have made that comment? Seriously?

So, you think Randle is going to make his choice solely on who has recruited him the hardest? Seriously?

No, business is good, all the toothless gumps have to become toothless someway right? But seriously, do ya'll really think that we have more rednecks then LA, I'm pretty sure it's about even, if we have more it's just cause our state is bigger.
But the sheep pregnancy rate is way higher there.
OK that made no sense, but neither does this thread.

My problem with that Bama board is that they try to cover it all up when indeed the same level of vitriol for "traitors" and poor performers exists.

So the reality is the same but the admins over there try to make their board all rosy and pro-Bama. Its kinda sickening.

Ya'll really don't have a place of your own to freely discuss Bama, that's why there are so many of you over here.

I'm suggesting that you took a single quote and placed waaaaaaaaay too much importance on it.

how would you know? ..did Randle tell you himself he didn't mean that? If not, I'm sticking to what actually came out of his mouth

quote:

It's illogical. And, like I said, you'd have to be an idiot to think that he's going to choose the school solely based on who has recruited him teh hardest...especially when it's plain to anyone with two eyes that several schools are recruiting him very hard.

what is logical is that statistics suggest he will stay in state and be a Tiger... statistics say that for obvious reasons

quote:

Personally, I think Randle is a smart kid

you just said you didn't believe what he himself said

quote:

complex, multi-variable decision

it is for every 18yo kid with more than one school recruiting them...duh

quote:

My guess is that he's weighing the pros and cons of everything, thinking about it hard, and will eventually come to the conclusion that one of the schools recruiting him is the best fit.

wow, you should run for President in 4 years

Thats what the article stated. But i do not know why Reuben will commit to what school..Seriously.
That being said....
LSU loves Reuben Randle!!!

To answer the rival question it started back in the early 60's when Charlie Mac becand coach of LSU, he was a former player for Bryant when Bryant coached UK, of couse after Coach Mac was let go after the 79 season and Bear was put out to pasture a few yrs. later the rivalry whaned, it just needed something to get it going again and just because you dont think of it as a rivalry doesnt mean others don't either there are plenty of fans on both sides including me that remember and still consider it one...

I did not know that either, and maybe there are alot of Bama fans that consider it one. But let's put it this way, every Bama fan I know, and I know alot, point out our two rivals as being Auburn and Tennesse. Hence the I hate orange shirts, etc. I'd never heard of us being a rival until I came on this board, I always thought ya'll we're more of an Auburn rival. In fact I used to always say if I wasn't a Bama fan, I'd be LSU, but not so much anymore.

Oh, and no way am I giving out a link to my website, unless you wanna fly up here to get a crown or a bridge. LOL

Well.....Cholly Mac only beat the Bear a couple of times, so it was really more about LSU fans hating Bama and not the other way around...although the Bear himself, I believe, recognized us as perhaps his biggest competition and hated playing in TS.

I don't believe the conclusion that you've drawn that his decision will be based solely on who recruits him the hardest. It's insulting to suggest that. He's going to pick the school that he thinks is best for his future...not the school who calls the most, or visits the most.

That's including water (swamp), and we are still bigger, and have a larger population. So what exactly is your point???

Its a historical thing....and the fact that the Tennessee Valley connects the two geographically...so the people are closely connected and a rivalry developed.

Cajuns and Creoles are not rednecks so that eliminates a good portion of Louisiana including myself...it would be a safe bet that bama has far more rednecks...

duh..I didn't think he'd pick what he thought was the worst school for him

what you suggest is usually defined by the in-state power 95% of the time -- thus you are suggesting that by statistics he'll pick LSU

Here is a question for you:

Do you think he would be considering Bama if Saban were not there and Shula was still there?

Say whatever you want to make you sleep better at night, but Saban being at Bama and coming after him hard is why RR is thinking about the Tide... nothing more, nothing less ..everything that has been said backs that thought up

Thus, if he chooses Bama/Saban then it will be because he believes Bama/Saban > LSU/Miles essentially
