3rd. Yet somehow if we lose 4 games again there will be people still talking about the 39 scholarship thing and how this isn't Kelly's fault.

Maybe I am not understanding the link, but how does the 2025 blue chip ratio ranking mean that this team (2024) underperformed. If you look at 2024 and 2023 it was significantly lower.

There are definitely some veteran busts, or at least guys who never got close to their recruiting projections who push that number higher than it should be. For example, Emery, Ryan and Guillory were all 5 stars and are still viewed as such in these projections. Burns and Gilbert were both high 4 stars. None have ever played close to that level.
That said- all of the above except for Guillory and maybe Emery are gone. Going forward, the highly-rated talent is mostly young and many like Durham, Parker, McKinley, Breaux, Keys and Reliford are already contributing. With this incoming class and the portal guys we either have or project to have coming in, the talent is coming together and the excuses are done. The staff has what they need to produce.

The reality is some of them won’t get enough playing time next year probably behind underperforming upperclassmen and they’ll transfer and become someone else’s blue chip next offseason. I hate this system.

All I can say about rankings is these 2 stick out in my mind
Sage Ryan - 5* #2 Safety in the country, total bust- portal twice- came back 24 and still He just doesn’t have it.
Cordelle Flott - 3* # 41 Cornerback
Played as Freshman, started at nickel
Now playing on Sundays
I know the Coaches are different but it’s hard to judge talent and the NIL is hard to navigate who to sign- but now if they’re getting paid to play, I say earn your money or cut your arse

Yeah, we only played 12 true freshmen this season. At least 4 of them had starts. None of them entered the portal, nor did any of the freshmen who didn’t play major minutes, but project to be contributors next season.
But troll on about issues that don’t actually exist here at the moment.

This is for the current recruiting class and transfer not the whole team. But all these recruits lack experience they will be freshmen

Well let’s look at reality you cuck. 2020 class ranked 15th. 2021 class ranked 17th
Kelly had a month to recruit the 2022 class. 2023 class was top ten and #1 in the portal. 2024.class top ten and we are currently in a uncatchable #1 spot in the portal. These are all facts. So we just got thru the 2024 season. Meaning we just started to recruit top notch talent 2 years ago. This is the reality O left us with. Kelly is playing with sophomore top talent. While everyone else in the sec is playing with 4-5 years top talent. Welcome to reality. It stings huh.
