All Out for Haskins

The kid just got highlighted on the Under Armour All American game practice special on ESPNU. His family is classy. He is mature and confident. He is a natural.
We MUST GET.
Maryland? Nah.
Send Coach O and Wilson and Miles and Cam all up there. Then get him down for a visit and roll out the carpet.
PLEASE. This could be HUGE for the LSU program.
Haskins should be a Tiger

Certainly wouldn't hurt to go all out for this kid.

Agreed. He's impressive and would be a dynamic get. But I recall being impressed with Brandon Harris during interviews while he was being recruited as well.

I would say we were top 3 easy about 4 months ago. This is the kid all along that we should have been pressing for. We were trying to respect Franks' wishes, but why put up with a kid's feelings. Take care of your shite. Recruit who you want. If they can't handle the competition, they can leave. Haskins should have been the guy after we lost Patterson in my opinion. That's just my opinion. I feel like he and Patterson are far and away the best 2 qbs in this class.

We have shot.. A lot better than people think.. Read the other threads. He wants les and cam to
Come visit to make sure LSU is for real. Savion and him are really close. Doesn't hurt that Kevin to liver is his cousin.

Make it happen. Sure, Maryland is close to home, but his tops there is a Music City Bowl or the like. They'll try to tell him differently, but that is not a good fit for him. His Mom needs to put her sons future ahead of her preference.

What does this even mean? Harris is still like that in interviews. Unless you are trying to compare how he sounds in an interview and how he plays the game.
Let me give you a basic break down of Haskins and Harris in high school
Harris
6-3 180 something
Strengths - arm strength, speed
Weaknesses - very raw in upper and lower body mechanics, spread shotgun offense going to pro style under center offense, wildly inaccurate, weight
Haskins
6'3 180 something
Strengths - quick release, elite accuracy, ability to go through progressions, played under center, mobility for a pocket passer
Weaknesses - only above average arm strength (is that even a weakness), weight
Haskins is the type that will blow up after a redshirt year to bulk up and learn the offense.

He seems pretty firm to Maryland. Some of his friends are trying to sway him to UF and its not working.

Datbayoubenfal:
I like Haskins. Just for accuracy of this thread, Harris played a lot under center. That's just built into Coach Feasters offense. The staple of his offense was the lead out of the I-formation, and play action off of the same play. Just wanted you to know that BHarris was no stranger to being under center.
With that being said, Haskins without question has a huge upside. I can reach that conclusion independent of comparing him to a QB who may or may not have displayed similar qualities.

Truth again. All you have to do is look at their film compared to the other QBs. Its not even close.

Idk if I've ever seen a designed weak side roll out for a QB in high school like mark 2:59...

I like Russo better looking at his tape.

Explain this comment. Cam is our OC and will likely be our OC for a long time. I think Cam would gladly recruit a QB like Haskins. Haskins abilities would fit LSU's offense extremely well.
Cam isnt infatuated with Haskins

Go look at a Haskins interview. Says he would like to visit LSU but Cameron has to make a in home first to prove he is "serious" about recruiting him. They are still "evaluating" him before they decide to press or not. If that pisses you off too bad then go follow a new team, this one isn't changing in these regards soon.

As I said in other thread it's obvious distance is an issue for him. He's said repeatedly Maryland is where he wants to be he's just listening around to make sure that's the place for him. If LSU is not recruiting him extremely hard I think it's because they know they don't really have a big shot with him. They're in no position to be picky at QB right now so Cam not being infatuated with him makes no sense because Miles and the rest of the staff would be all over him hard.
Not everyone is in love with all the big programs calling their way. Sometimes a guy feels loyal to the ones who spotted his talent first and recruited him the hardest. It's not what you guys want to hear but sometimes it's the truth. Of course, I'm just speculating so take it with a grain of salt.
We really do need a QB somewhere or this class is incomplete.
