A Thought of Frank Wilson (long)

I know alot of people think Frank Wilson whored himself out with Buster Davis and Daryl Johnson, but there is another hot shot assitant out there who everyone loves that done the same thing.
Gus Malazhan done the same thing with Mitch Mustain, Damien Williams, Alex Tejada, and Ben Cleveland. Malazhan said they only way to get all 4 of the Springdale players were that he came on as Offensive Coordinator at UA. Which Houston Nutt gave him.
As pretty much everyone knows Malazhan went on to Tulsa after Mitch Mustain and Damien Williams transfered to SC and put up some good offenses there, and Auburn he has some good offenses.
My point is this. Alot of high school coaches hope to advance their careers in their profession with help of their players. I don't believe there is nothing wrong with that. If you was a good coach would you want to stay at the high school level, or would you want to move up to college or maybe even the NFL one day. Everyone is always looking to move up.

Agreed. Also, people don't know about the discussions that go on behind closed doors. Wilson may have only asked to be considered for the job, not demanded it.
I also think both he and Malzahn have proven to be legitimate college hires. It's not like they are glorified P.E. teachers.

it's called leverage and sometimes you need it to get to where you want to be. Anyone in their position would do the same. I don't think demanding it is the way but having that situation and asking for a shot is sometime what you need to do.
ps that wasn't that long......you can edit your title

Frank Wilson would be good for LSU. He has big inroads to NOLA and can get the best information available on players that are currently being passed over by LSU in favor of "national" recruits. Mike Wallace, for instance, didn't even get a whiff from LSU.

He's a great recruiter, " said McDonogh 35 Coach Wayne Reese, whose own Lionel Breaux signed with Ole Miss during Orgeron's tenure. "But let's face facts. The guy that was doing the recruiting for him (in Louisiana) while he was at Ole Miss was Frank Wilson (a former O.P. Walker coach, whom Orgeron made one of his first hires. Wilson is now at Mississippi State). They made three or four trips here to 35 and the guy doing the leg work for him was Frank Wilson. Virtually every guy he got from Louisiana was because of Frank Wilson.

Hire Frank Wilson! His running backs have consistently produced outstanding numbers from OP Walker, Ole Miss, USM now Tennessee. His recruiting accumen is unquestioned. His ties to N.O. and LA are a plus.
Where is the downside? Some unsubstantiated rumors about him angling for a position on LSU's staff previously? Maybe that is BS and maybe that just means he really wants to be here. Make it happen.

Frank would be a great hire...too bad some of the toolboxes on here will disparage him for some ridiculous issue they generate.

Is Wilson considered a good position coach?

I love the post asking whether Frank Wilson can actually coach the position.
