Would fit right in at LSU.

I'm sure CWW knows all about him. I trust his judgement.

Hey, Will Wade, internet user Macaoidh isn’t saying no, this one’s your call.

If I understand the tone of your post correctly, I don't think you realize what macoidh knows about LSU sports. If you are just an everyday joe blow like the rest of us, he's forgotten more knowledge about LSU sports than you and I have ever learned about it.

Wade certainly wants talent first, but he mentioned earlier this year that “we have to get older”. So I think he wants and experienced player or two first and foremost (though they of course can’t be bums talent wise).

I think he looked at teams like Alabama, Arkansas, Texas Tech (and Michigan) and saw teams with seniors and grad transfers. Next year’s team will have some “age”: Leblanc, O’Neal, Hyatt, Knight, but not a lot of production from that “age” (unless Days chooses to return).

As a rutgers fan, no chance he lands here imo.

Kids a genius and looking for a top engineering school, hes not looking for the best basketball opportunities, hes looking for the best grad school option.

He's intelligent. That does not mean that he is looking exclusively for a "top engineering program." If he wants to play ball while attending graduate school, then he is not going to MIT. Ga Tech might be more of what he is looking for. If he just wants to play basketball for a good program and get a graduate degree in engineering, then there are at least a dozen good options. I don't think any of us know enough about his personal goals to say that LSU has no shot.

I mean, outside of listening to what he has actually said, I guess you are right.

“I’m in here, I love it here, I’ve been here for four years,” Johnson said prior to participating in the Scarlet Knights’ Senior Night ceremony. “Rutgers is definitely still an option, it’s never been off the table.”

Based on what he actually said, he could stay at Rutgers or go anywhere else. Are you referring to some other source besides the linked article or just making stuff up?

I found this article. Perhaps this is where people are getting the Cali info.

The revolving door of transfers in college basketball is spinning at an unprecedented rate, and it just hit Rutgers hard.

Myles Johnson, the program’s most indispensable player, announced his entry into the transfer portal Thursday — potentially dealing a significant blow to the Scarlet Knights’ hopes of returning to the NCAA Tournament next season. The 6-foot-11 center, one of the nation’s top defensive postmen, is graduating in May and has two years of eligibility remaining.

“What an extraordinary ride these past four years have been,” Johnson posted on social media. “I want to thank Coach Pikiell and the entire staff of Rutgers men’s basketball, not only for the development of me as a player, but as a person.”

Johnson told reporters last month that he’s applying to engineering graduate schools across the country, including Rutgers (where he already was accepted). The allure of the California native returning to his home state might be too strong to pass up. Stanford, UCLA and Cal are potential destinations. He will be one of the most sought-after players in the portal.

“One of the best young men I’ve ever coached," Rutgers coach Steve Pikiell said. "Excited for him to pursue his options—and these are options he’s made for himself. This goes beyond basketball. I’m happy for him and his family.”

As someone close to the situation pointed out after the announcement, it’s possible Johnson could remain at Rutgers — he technically must enter the portal to engage with other programs as he sorts out his grad-school situation. Johnson noted as such in his announcement, stating that he is “exploring my options.”

But his announcement looked an awful lot like a farewell note.

“I will forever carry my Rutgers Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and the relationships with my brothers with me,” he wrote. "Thank you to the coaches, trainers, fans and team for everything.”
