His arm is much better than Scott's and he plays at a top program. Any other questions?

His film reminds me a lot of Brock Berlin coming out of evangel. Lots of elite players around him makes it hard to assess how good he really is. We'll find out once he gets to college.

Kyler Murray was a 5 star as well and he's under 6ft.

Hope Scott is better and proves the star rankers wrong. Field vision, football IQ and accuracy mean so much more, by saying much better arm can mean throwing farther and not more accurate. Who knows right now and time will tell.

I wouldn't agree 100% here. A QB having a stronger arm is one of the hardest things to defend on the defensive side of the ball. It's not all about throwing downfield with a cannon. It's about putting zip on the ball so that a DB can't jump the pass. This in addition to a quick release are key factors in a QBs success as well as the ones you mentioned. Grant it, if it's not accurately delivered then what's the point. So I agree with you, but a QB must have a strong arm to be competitive at the higher levels.

This. To add, it also expands the passing playbook and diversifies in-game play calling. You don't call a 17 yard out route to the opposite hash if Anthony Jennings is your QB. You don't think twice about calling it if Jamarcus Russell is under center.

The answer is probably exposure. I don't know how many elite camps or other things like that that Scott went to or the kid from Vegas but to me it seems like if you don't go to these camps you just won't get seen and rated. I am hearing more about the Vegas kid before his senior year than I did about Scott. Not too many people heard of him before the state championship.

You are drunk. Martells film shows wider angles with camera far from the field. It makes the ball much harder to track. But I see throws with great accuracy and good velocity in Scotts film. Watched the state championship live. Scott roped on the line and threw with touch. 5 total incompletions. I watched Martell for 4 qtrs on ESPN during the season. He looked good, but I saw nothing would have me grading him hiring than Scott. To answer the question of the two QBs and rankings: Bishop Gormam is an Allstar team (nationally ranked). He transferred from his home state to Vegas. Smart move. Kyler Murray played for Allen HS, a Texas power house. He transferred from his original school in the 10th. No magic to it. Just facts.

Always been good, yes. Boarding school, no.

You may be thinking of Findlay Prep in Vegas.

They don't base their evaluations on just stats or just size.

Damn. It's amazing how people can see completely different things on tape. I think he's got a funny release and his throws over the middle were pretty meh. He threw a couple of good ones across his body, but Scot does that well, too.

Now, Martell is an elusive runner, for sure. But I don't see a five star arm.
