5* Tate Martell vs 3* Lindsay Scott LSU QB Stats?

One kid is a 5* that plays for a team that recruits the best talent from multiple states......and plays against Nevada HS talent.
Scott played for Zachary, which plays against 5A talent in one of the most talented football states in the nation.
Martell is 5'11, 170lbs. Scott is built like a running back at 5'11, 200-210lbs.
Who's the better prospect?
You do the math. Here's the 2015 Stats....
Martell:
173.9 yards per game passing
133 of 237 for a 56.12 completion percentage
32 TD's versus 6 INT's
608 yards rushing. 40.3 yard per game average
Scott:
202 yards per game passing
163 of 255 for a 63.92 completion percentage
33 TD's versus 5 INT's
1963 Rushing yards. 130.9 per game average.
More passing yards per game, better completion percentage, better TD to INT ratio, crap ton more rushing yardage per game (more than 3 times as many).
Okay, so someone please explain to me how Scott was ranked 1042 in his class and Martell is ranked 19th in his.
Popkirn.....

Doesn't he go to bishop Gorman which plays national power houses (like you said) and they have multiple nationally televised games every season.
There also isn't a recruiting service out there that hasn't agreed that Scott is a sleeper prospect.
At this point, stars don't matter. They're mostly for the fans any way. Scott is a tiger and if he works hard, can prove thru his play that there aren't 1000 better prospects than he is.
My opinion : he's going to be a fantastic college player

He had 40TD and 2INT his soph year.
Based on the first minute of film of Tate I just watched, he is faster and has a better arm than Lindsay. Also he didn't transfer in the middle of his HS career and plays for a MARQUEE school.

And that my friend is exactly why stars and position rankings mean absolutely nothing..

He plays at Bishop Gorman, they're a powerhouse like Paramus Catholic, St. Thomes Aquinas and Mater Dei. He has a stronger and more accurate arm than scott.

Their closest game was 38-20. Every other game was a complete blowout. Some Game scores were 70-7,69-7,63-7,70-3,63-7,63-13, type scores.......
I doubt that's National Power House competition looking at those scores. The kid has padded his stats with an all star cast, against sisters of the poor.
Glad he's an Aggie. That kid ain't SEC material.

Watching his video, I disagree. He's fast, decisive and has an above average arm.

He's slower than Murray, and plays against lesser competition obviously .......that doesn't matter however.
The point of this thread is to show what we have in Scott. Kid was done wrong by every recruiting service when you look at the numbers/competition above.

Just off the little film I have watched.
Martell does often have guys wide open.
He seems to have a strong arm, but he is much more elusive as well. He often throws to his first and only read though. Just stares down his target.
Scott doesn't look nearly as agile, but he goes through his reads and even utilizes the pump fake to get defenders to bite. Scott has tremendous QB smarts.

Absolutely this jumps out. However, as I pointed out he's just throwing to his first read who is often the much better athlete making the play on the ball.. often fairly open.
Any ways, he does look good for his age and possibly he could still be growing?

Kyler Murray is even more quicker (by a ton), just as decisive, and even more accurate with receivers who are much more covered.. and that still didn't work out for him in the SEC..

Maybe because of Height . A lot of the QB rankings are done off of projections. How the ranking person projects they will do in college. That's why rankings usually don't mean a whole lot. That is how pro baseball scouts ranks prospects as well. Which is why most baseball players don't pan out.
