is that our recruiting strategy now, wait and hope that what’s left will want to come to LSU?

you should do everyone a favor at your early stage of posting and just stop posting.

FWIW, Lance Thompson, our old/new OLBers coach, said in his version of the 3-4 that the Jack and Sam spots are mirror images. So, technically, we need 2 Jacks in every class while he is at Bama.

I understand where the sentiment comes from, but the reality is that Bama doesn't sign that many Jack LBs. We signed 2 in '10 (only 1 qualified), 1 in '11, and 1 in '12.

We've recruited several this year (Nkemdiche, Allen, Liner, Williams, Beckwith) but we'll be lucky to actually sign 2 from that group. It's like recruiting several guys to play QB each year but only signing 1 sometimes 2.
Flame away.

Why?
You come here and make perfect sense and don't act like a stupid jackass...
No reason to flame.
If all Bama fans did this there would be more decent sports talk going on in here.

Instead most come here acting like..well Gumps.

Always good to hear another schools perspective when they are not acting like an arse about it.

thats a good one

As we know, OLB coaches make the calls on what type of defenses Saban's teams play.

No, it just means that Thompson is the first OLB coach we've had that actually spoke to the media on what our defensive preferences are. You never saw Sunseri speak to the press so we never knew how the coaching staff viewed Bama's defense. Thompson seemingly has more access to reporters than Sunseri.

Hard to flame somebody who's not talking out of his arse like a lot of TD's resident Alabama posters.

He is only a 5 on 247, aka Bama 247. The owners are Gumps. Big surprise he is a 5 on their site. Other sites he is a mid tier 4.

Most of that is because 247 updates their rankings much more often than the other sites and also send their "ranking" group to the major events so they see these kids much more often than other sites do. On Scout and Rivals, it's usually the same guys seeing the same prospects and it's hard to change a guy's mind once he's convinced. 247 doesn't just send regional analysts to VA events, they send different guys on different occasions that allow all the guys differing opinions to weigh in on a prospect instead of one guy who may already be convinced good or bad about a kid. This is in particular the case at Rivals.

Allen is a beast. He is an ideal jack prospect. He's what you hope they all would look like physically and athletically.

I live in VA as well and agree that hs football isn't as important as in the south but that doesn't change the talent that is here. Northern VA and the Hampton Roads/Norfolk areas take hs football seriously and are loaded with talented kids. The state is loaded this year and just fricking sick next year. 3 5* kids in VA for next year as of now. 2(Hand and Andrew Brown) will be 5* on every site while Blanding is a real possibility himself. Hand will likely be #1 on every initial list and Brown top 5. Richmond doesn't take hs football very seriosuly but the schools that do have some very talented kids. Talent is talent no matter where it comes from and VA has a lot of it.

Virginia high school football players are overhyped. They are not developed at the high school level, because it is not a priority any way compared to the south.

I'm living in virginia beach right now and Mike Vick, Deangelo Hall, Tiki/Ronde Barber, Tahj Boyd, Percy Harvin, Bruce Smith, Tyrod Taylor, E.J Manual and Justin Hunter all say otherwise.

Kids a beast and is from orinallly from Anniston AL.

Its always easy to get kids to come back to AL.

Ruben Foster is originally from Roanoke AL and he will stick with Bama regardless of what Auburn does.

If Nick can land big Rob that would be 3 top 10 players all in the front 7.
