Look at the prediction timeline

Right after his visit to Alatrash, the predictions went to LSU!

Update from Spiegs

quote:

“Man, me and Coach O have the tightest relationship I’ve ever had in recruiting,” Brooks told SEC Country. “We talked about playing early mostly. The love they gave me in Baton Rouge — it’s different than any school I’ve ever been to. People walking around, the athletes I was talking to, the coaches … there’s nothing like that. I can’t not be a part of it. It was one of the most amazing visits I’ve ever been on because of the people. It felt like home.”

If he doesn't commit after that then I don't know what will happen.

On a serious note we loss Surtain to Bama but Bama has actually lost more recruiting battle than they won this past class

Careful! That's a borderline pro O comment.

Be great to have him but we've stocked the front 7 pretty well

Hence the 7SU nickname we’ve earned...

That's actually a very poignant point.

It is a zero sum game. To get the guy you want is one thing. It's a +1.

To get the guy you want from you conference competition is another. +1 for you, -1 for your direct competition and has future effects on and off the field, hence +3 Net.

Most coaches realize this. Very few implement a strategy with it in mind. Urban is one, of course Saban is another.

You can't stop a Surtain from doing what he does. You have to try, you better try to reel him in. But you don't have control over it. What you can do is eliminate the -1 and plan accordingly; if you do that you also reduce the +1 to the competition on/off the field with 'ancillary' effects.

Hopefully, with Kirby tearing it up close to Saban, he has to spend more time east of Louisiana.
