3 Quick Things To Pass On

1. Emery came to us wanting to talk. That wasn't just a courtesy conversation. It still isn't over, but I'll continue to stick with my prediction that he ends up in the class.
2. Holy shite is Siaki Ika a large guy! He also had a great time with the staff, and he brought enough kinfolk with him to fill out a defense. One thing they absolutely loved was the Fehoko haka, and the fan reaction of excitement, acceptance, and love for their culture. They also will be spending an extra day and not leaving until Monday. Too early to call this fight, but we have a punchers chance here. Thought he was all Bama before the weekend, but as Corso says, "Not so fast my friend!".
3. George Pickens is on the hook. Just got to finish reeling him into the boat. He was on campus AGAIN, and he said it was by far the best college atmosphere he'd ever seen.

The 247 guys that said Pickens wasn't there, but they all essentially said what you did and that's that LSU feels they are in a great spot for him.

Pickens or Pickering? I know Miss St commit Pickering didn't come in (bummer, but not shocked), but was told Pickens was going to be there. It's possible he wasn't though. I'll ask and make sure they weren't confusing him with someone else.

From what I read there was some miscommunication and confusion with Pickens and he was actually at Auburn. The Pickering/Pickens thing is definitely a little confusing though

Gotcha. Was told the staff talked to him after game and he was as happy as could be and raving about the fans and the game. Just assumed that conversation happened in person, and that he did make it in, but maybe not. The only recruits I know were there that I saw in person were Ika and Emery. Passed by a group of them, but it was all the guys already committed just talking. Again, I'll ask and see what's up. Bit of a whirlwind of emotion post game with all the guys.

I think the fact that he and Moore didn't show after telling us they were coming sort of paints that picture. Now, we curb stomp some more Bulldogs next week, and some doors might open back up a little. Both are supposed to come in for that game, too.

Winning is the only cure for recruiting. Keep on winning and guys who were looking elsewhere will come around.

What's the deal with Sopher? I'm not going to read much into his visit to bama but are we on top of his list. Does Ika's strong interest in us have any effect on Sopher?

Sopsher was never coming to LSU..the fact he chose to go to Bama//Mizzo game over LSU/Georgia tells you where he stands.

Was always going to be a war til the end between us and Bama. I've said that from the get go. He will be here for the LSU-Bama game, and we'll try to get him on campus against MSU this next weekend, too. Still think we're in a good spot, but the staff has contingency plans in place should he decide to go to Bama. I still view it as a win-win situation in that if he does go to Bama we have 2 more open scholarships to use as we want, and if we keep winning at this pace, there's going to be plenty of options.

What is up with Sophser? I saw Hank South put in his cb to BAMA. When South does that, TS pretty accurate, especially with Louisiana kids.
BAMA isnt going to offer his brother. LSU pulls Rodney’s offer if Ish chooses BAMA? Seems as though something shifted within the last couple of weeks. What happened?

You still recruit a kid like Sopsher hard but you ABSOLUTELY don’t let his recruitment screw up a position group.
Can’t sit on your hands till signing day to see which way he goes.
