Isn't Francois supposed to be in line to take Chad Jones spot at FS battling with Ron Brooks?

A lot of people think it's Craig Loston's spot to lose. Only reason I mentioned him was because I don't think he has played at all, where Loston did a little last year and I think he was in LM's doghouse early in the year.

Again, all this is unconfirmed and simply my guess. I was hoping Williams, Francois and Prater would be good players. I just have never seen them or heard anything about them.

Thank you for understanding how this works. Nobody on here seems to understand the 85/25 and that we signed 24 last year..So Either Washington or Adams (who im not sure is enrolled currently), is backcounted. So we are Technically at 26.

If all qualify as expected now, Wing has agreed to Grayshirt. If he receives his scholarship he will count towards the class of 11. (since we signed 25)

Bates, will-walk on during the season, therefore he's not a grayshirt, he's a "walk-on" If a scholarship happens to open in spring semester of 11, he will receive a scholarship but it will count towards class of 11. However, im not sure if thats been guarenteed to him. Either way He will count towards the Class of 11 because we signed 25 in 10

Hope this clears everything up.

i agree with all of this except..

i do not think when a player gets the scholarship matters, i think it is when you bring in a new scholarship player that matters. ex. if a 3 yr walk-on punter gets a scholly in his 4th year, does he now count in the class from 3 years ago?

Bates will count towards the 85 in 2011, but never against the 25 for a class.

Well if Loston is at Free then who is at Strong Safety or am I forgetting someone? Seems to me like Loston looked physically stronger than Francois or Brooks.

"Strong" when describing safeties refers to the side of the offense they typically line up against, and describes an assignment/skillset, not necessarily to describe which of the two safeties is physically "stronger" than the other.

I'd guess the starting safties would be some combination of Craig Loston, Karnell Hatcher and Ron Brooks.

If he receives a ship within his first two years, he will be an initial counter (i.e. count against the 25). Giving him a ship after the fall allows him to be counted against either this year or next, but he counts.
