- Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy quarterback and LSU commit Colin Hurley has arguably the strongest arm in the camp and has elite arm strength.

He has a powerful frame and is built like a tank. The ball jumps out of his hand with just a flick of wrist and he looked comfortable throwing out of the pocket as well.

He wasn’t as consistent with his accuracy as a few of the other quarterbacks but there is a lot to work with here.

Not among the top overall, but they saw some serious talent. We'll see if he improves his accuracy next year in high school...

Other observations:

1 - If we had to pick an overall Top Performer for today, it would have to be Carlsbad (Calif.) quarterback and Alabama commit Julian Sayin. Sayin was really impressive in every drill and even some of the college counselors were commenting that, ‘this kid looks different.’

We just saw Sayin at the San Diego Super 7 a week ago so it wasn’t a surprise to see him once again ripping balls all over the field. We’ve said it before but it bearsr repeating, in the ’24 class, he looks like the guy most ready to step in and play early in college.

He flashed the quickest release, was the most accurate and showed plenty of arm strength. He throws a very tight ball, can get it out from multiple arm angles and is just as comfortable throwing outside the pocket as he is taking a classic drop or throwing out of the gun.

He throws with advanced timing and anticipation and just has a great all around feel for playing the position. Physically, he’s starting to fill out as well and has put on good weight this off-season and he’s throwing with more velocity as a result.

2 - The player who impressed the most after Sayin was Carrollton (Ga.) freshman Julian Lewis. Lewis is probably the most advanced freshman I’ve personally seen at this event.

He’s about 6-1 with an athletic frame and definitely lived up to his lofty status as arguably the top prospect in the ’26 class. He’s a very confident kid and looked right at home in the top group despite being 2-3 grades younger than every other signal caller.

He’s very strong mechanically, especially for a young quarterback and there really isn’t much tweaking needed in terms of his drop, ball placement or release. He can get the ball out quick, always looks on-balance and in rhythm and can really spin it.

3 - This was our third year in a row seeing Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School quarterback and Michigan commit Jadyn Davis and he’s filling out well and looks closer to 6-1 now with a real athletic build.

He told us he’s actually been in Southern California since Wednesday to train with 3DQB and is working on tightening his release a bit. We noticed a slight loop when he throws on straight drops and he actual gets the ball out quicker when he’s rolling out and throws more quarter side arm.

He’s a very functional athlete with great movement in the pocket and the ability to make accurate throws on sprints out to his right or throwing off-platform to his left. We’ve always liked his maturity and poise as well and feel he will be capable of playing early in college.

4 - In the ’25 class, this was my first opportunity to see Brentwood Academy (Tenn.) quarterback George MacIntyre and he’s very intriguing. He looked all of the 6-5 he’s listed at and has a smooth, easy delivery and the ball jumps out of his hand.

I know we're pursuing him for the 2025 QB slot...

Hurley will come in with NFLSU type receivers and backs, strong OL and grow from there. Plus he has his Sr. HS season & he's said to be a hard and thoughtful worker. He's my #1 draft pick at QB.

Honestly, we can bring him along at a good pace as we have studs ahead of him. Unless, of course, inures bite us at QB position.

Seems like improved footwork and placement will solve the accuracy issues...

There's a lot of things to like about Hurley. This is the knock on him though. Hope to see some improvement there this year.

It has been documented that there is rarely a big jump in accuracy from last year of HS to college. I would say if a QB is playing with an Inferior group of receivers or pitiful Oline (like Ricky) then a notable jump could be seen.

He doesn't have that excuse so it's paramount he improves. He's at Trinity which is far from your local high school. Wr talent and poor OL play doesn't fit. At a certain point accuracy is something you have or don't. Reportedly he has private coaching, been to countless camps and combines with good coaching, experience and talent to play with. If all those things can't improve his accuracy then it likely can't be fixed.
Hurley has grown on me tremendously and I really like the mental and physical tools but this accuracy issue has to be cleared up or Kelly and staff are gonna have questions to answer because of the circumstances of taking him. Part of that is I'm sure he came cheap in NIL terms(in qb terms). Maybe we're getting what we paid for.

And he will, don’t forget his WRs are virtually unknown, and his team doesn’t throw 40 times a game. He’s by far the youngest QB in the 24 class most QBs are 2 1/2 years older than him. He’s still growing and has the strongest arm there. A year or 2 behind Nuss with his potential will be a mature and seasoned LSU player ready to take over still only 19 yrs old, mature and smart. Imho I think with two years at LSU learning, working, nutrition and his mindset we will be set at QB. Get Bryce U 25, could be looking at the best years of QBing at LSU for the next 8 yrs.

I think people forget he’s still very young and was supposed to just finish his sophomore year of high school. As he matures physically and mentally along with getting more game reps, he should improve across the board. He has traits you can’t teach. I’m a firm believer accuracy and timing can be coached. Josh Allen with the Bills is the best example.

Yeah, he came cheap. lmao. You realize his development ceiling is higher than most other QBs just from his classification and age? He hasn't even grown into his body yet so mechanically speaking he has a lot he can improve on which includes accuracy. There's plenty of HS guys who in 1 year see a huge leap in maturity and that's what makes his ceiling so enticing because he's younger than these guys with a high ceiling. He could also hit a hard growth spurt which changes a lot of for him physically. Why do you people overlook his age which is something that can't be understated.

LSU will know where he stands after this season and if they need to get serious with a QB next year. You can easily see if a QB is hitting his ceiling or there's still a ton of growth to go alongside it. They obviously feel he has a lot of potential growth left with his ceiling when they scouted him. I'm sure they feel like right now he's mature for his age, smart, and already has great tools to work with like arm strength. That's not even including where he will be physically 2 years from now. He's more mature than most QBs his age mentally so that can only improve alongside his mechanics. His ceiling is still high.

We need to recruit a QB every year. That's why I asked about the kid from TN:

Anybody (CC) have any intel on where we stand with this kid or Bryce Underwood?

Accuracy is the #1 thing I would need to see to go after a QB. Big arm is down the list.

Hurley seems to have the intangibles you want.

main knock on his is his feet. he has like zero rushing yards in his career. i saw some stat about that and how it correlates historically and it ain’t good.

He realistically has 2 years and some change to help coach up his accuracy, At 15 he’s got the strongest arm in velocity, his legs are muscled tree stumps, he’s at 213, one year in he’ll weigh 225, if he grows another 3” in the next 3years - 6’3” 225lb RSF 18-19yrs old w nothing but trying to be a human experiment Built QB - passing coach, mental doctor, a throwing doctor ( that’s right a throwing doctor) and a pass throwing coach, he works out like a gym rat with a trainer, since he was 13, he plays on small private school team with no power 5 commits except him, he doesn’t throw it 40 times a game. When he gets used to the speed of play with some great players like on his 7/7 teams he shows out. I think his ranking is lower based on: competition hs, numbers based on his WR , he seems to be programmed like a robot, his maturity is off the charts almost too good to be true, he’s not street cred established yet. Imo I believe this guy a year at LSU will be a Stud at QB and more than ready to come in for Nuss. This cat is a Experimental program project to make a willing participant at QB the best they can, and they’re building a prototype and Colin is “IT”

SORRY! Ate a gummie passed out woke up and posted the almost same shite I posted 6 hrs ago, gummies stronger than I expected
