Demand. DTs are in extremely high demand but also short in numbers and quality. That leads to offers from schools. Offers don't automatically qualify you for a 4th*. Zion Williams was a 3 star across the board until the summer. He also didn't attend camps very often if at all. So, what did he do to earn a bump different from what was already seen? He didn't have new film, had limited eyes on him from an evaluation standpoint after his JR season yet when ON3 bumped him he was praised as being a high upside, elite level DT. Did they just miss that the first time evaluating his tape? The offers were there all along. What changed their mind? My theory is they didn't really evaluate him at all the first time. Not at all surprised. That's what happens when journalism majors are responsible for ranking these kids and not actual scouts.

I could care less what they rank our players. We have good players. We just have to build depth now. That’s what we’re doing. Our WRs are young but they will grow up this season. They will have to.
I still believe that we need to have two TEs on that field IF we want to run the ball like they’re talking about. Not because our OL can’t handle it, it’s so a defense can’t key on our run game at any point during a game if we use our TEs on every down/distance. We can still spread team out with our TEs on that field. Flex them out. They are plenty fast enough and have the hands to be able to handle that. Then you can get both the blocking and the receiving threat at all times.
If you want to throw another WR or two into the game, do that when we want to stomp on an opponents neck and put the game away. Do it randomly throughout a game but not in obvious situations. Then you can still run draw plays, QB draws and screens from those sets so they can’t key in on the pass game as well. Run unconventional shite early in games to throw the opponents off even if it may not work. Do it to show a different look from conventional sets. Pass when you they think run and run when they think pass but at the same time, execute the hell out of those plays.

Welcome aboard young man. Bo Davis has exceeded expectations and has the future very bright with the talent that he is bringing in on the defensive line. We are setting up a very competitive environment where players are going to compete on a daily basis and that is how greatness is achieved. Looking forward to seeing the depth that will be developed along the DL.
