Nah, this guy is legit good. Think Saivion Jones but 10 lbs heavier and doing it against much stiffer competition.

Pete Golding wanted this kid. LSU wants him to camp before offering. Bama has the luxury of just throwing an offer out without any repercussions.

I know he’s a high quality player, which makes me think the reason he’s had so few offers is because of grades.

This is us taking taking a nobody from the state of Alabama that Bama and Auburn didn’t offer.
Posted on 2/1/21 at 3:29 pm to Byrdybyrd05
He went to some camp this past weekend and abused some OL kids commited to Bama.
Bama offered and he took it. Kid is a freak.

I get what you're saying, but we already have tons of in state offers out and have the top 2 players in the state (at positions of EXTREME need) locked up.
We'll be fine in LA.

By no means am I saying we are lacking. But maybe this guy would have been more on our radar had we had those camps. Just hurts is not being able to have those hands on evaluation periods

ULL and Tulane apparently hadn't offered, either. Alabama was the only offer listed. He had to be pinching himself, and I don't blame him for accepting. LSU still has time to convince him to stay home.

He's a great kid and a real talent. Pete already has him placed in a JC he'll need because of his family situation.

He is an insurance policy & forces Orgeron to spend time in Lafayette. Bama will "process" him before signing day. The kid doesn't realize he is being used.

So you don't believe he'll actually sign with Bama? I don't see them signing him if they're convinced he will need to go to junior college.
I obviously don't know his home situation, but I don't think I'm alone in hoping he can overcome any obstacles and be successful, regardless of where he plays college football.

quote:Exactly. He doesn't go to school in Bama, so it costs Bama nothing to cut him right before signing day. In the meantime, if he gets his grades in order, they'll keep the commitment and sweet talk him about how they were the first to believe in him and the first to offer him. It's a Bama gamble that costs them zero.

Lafayette might not be a bad spot to spend time in if you’re recruiting. They have some dudes here.

I assume there’s some relation to Adam Bob who played linebacker at Northside in the 80’s. Went on to play at A&M. I found this article about Bob....he passed away in 2019. The article recalls all the national recruits from the Lafayette area at linebacker back in the day. Not one, went to LSU. Man, times have changed.

Well that’s why we hired this new DL coach! He’ll come with tons of energy and lots of persuasion for these kids. If he’s the real deal, it’s just getting started!
With how we’ve recruited at this position lately and with the talent we can hopefully access now, I think LSU can take a few risks as well. I’d never recruit scared. If the young man has to be processed for reasons out of LSUs control then whoever thinks badly of it can kick rocks. If you can’t understand this is a business and committing to a school means committing yourself to all aspects of that program then that’s a personal issue. Committed includes grades, attitude on/off the field, staying in shape and continuing to improve at your position.
We will hold each and everyone of our players to that standard while also helping you to achieve these goals, while you’re committed. Meaning we’re both committed until we see you are no longer on the same page. Set that standard while recruiting and who cares who gets upset? Be straight and help them out where possible and when possible, inside the rules of course. Skirt the rules as much as
possible, to our advantage, without breaking them.
I think or at least I hope we see a pretty significant difference in how we’ve been recruiting these top DLman, QBs, OLman and LBs . We stay ahead at these positions and land high 4* and 5* studs at these positions and Coach O will be pleased at the results.

Kinda surprised he doesn't have an LSU offer yet.
