lmao what the frick situation do you think we have at LSU?

Rattler is going to be at Okie for at least three years. Myles will be at LSU for one maybe two more years.

We are terrible at recruiting qbs

Well, when we had Les Miles we were always terrible at recruiting QBs cause Les Miles wouldn't develop QBs. As he would destroy them instead.

However, in case you haven't noticed, Les Miles no longer coaches at LSU anymore and LSU's last QB just won the Heisman besides a whole host of other major awards on top of it.

Hence, I have a feeling our fortunes are about to change.

Curious about something, why whenever the topic comes up about us being set up to get an elite QB (based off rating) next year, Nussmeier name is thrown in their with Williams? We've been getting Nussmeier level players out of HS so I don't see how that would be considered a huge get. Is it bc he's 100% CB'd to us or underrated?

Why does it work like that for LSU, but not other schools?

Coley was the primary recruiter for Vandagriff at Georgia. He leaves and suddenly Vandagriff commits to them. Jeff Scott was recruiting DJ to Clemson, then he leaves yet it doesn't affect DJ at all.

It's frustrating watching Bama, Clemson, Georgia land these types of QBs every year regardless of coaching changes and on the field results.

Success. Success in different ways and success over time.

Bama has been winning at a high rate for a long time. While AJ McCarron didn't set the world on fire, he did have a national championship winning season over us. The next year he put up 30 TDs and another national championship. Lane Kiffin came in later and brought Blake Sims to prominence, and brought in 5 star Barnett. He led Coker to a 3000 yard season with a national championship, and that winning brought in 4 star dual threat Hurts. Hurts success brought in Tua, Tua's success brought in Young. A lot of winning and a lot of QB success.

Ohio St has gotten top QBs to go there for years. Same with Bama, winning success, and success of QBs. Plus Ohio St is one of the few blue blood powerhouse programs that are still at the elite level in win success and talent. Their QBs have been the talk of CFB almost every year for over a decade.

Oklahoma's got the blue blood, high talent, high wins, QB success, prestige thing down, but they aren't swimming in 5 stars. That's only because of the transfers. Oklahoma has had a transfer for the past 5 seasons and they've all put up crazy Heisman numbers (two winning it and a 3rd who would have, if it weren't for Burrow). However Rattler, a 5 star monster, is also part of the reason that Vandagriff switched to stay home.

UGA has had good to great QB play this entire century outside of a few years. Georgia also consistently has a top level QB in that state. I mean think about it, Trevor Lawrence, Deshaun Watson, Jake Fromm, Justin Fields, and now this Vandergriff kid. What's so funny is that Fromm wasn't even the highest rated QB that year in Georgia. Fromm at 44 overall was behind #15 overall #1 QB prospect Mills. In years they didn't have a top QB in state they'd get guys like Jacob Eason and Aaron Murray (both 5 stars).

Clemson had to claw up to that. It was success from winning, success from a high powered offense, success from stars like Tahj Boyd (5 star) and Deshaun Watson (5 star). Also, if you're a religious person Dabo really appeals to you as a mentor (please don't get your panties in a wad, it's true).

LSU has had none of that. No recent success of winning at a high rate (that ended back in 2011), no success of developing good-great QBs, no success in scheme except for that one outlier in 2013 that got Brandon Harris to stay home. Worst mistake of his life. Bro could have continued where Nick Marshall left off at Auburn. These guys don't just decide based on a coach, or leave based on a coach leaving. All the teams mentioned above LSU have switched their OCs multiple times and haven't missed a beat. That also builds confidence, and that builds a program. Like the old saying goes, if you build it, they will come.

We really need Brennan and the new OC to show that 2019 wasn't all just lightning in a bottle

And has nothing to show for it.

Why do people say this? Ohio St has tons of talent, so does Oklahoma, but neither has a title since 2014. While winning the national championship is the end goal, making it to the playoffs is the key part. Had LSU not did what they did in 2019, I would have taken UGA's last 3 seasons no doubt, and so would many other CFB fans.

UGA has yet another good squad this year and I'm not on the bandwagon of UF taking that division. I actually believe this will be their best team offense wise IF they implement a spread scheme. At worst that QB Newman is JT Barrett.

They will be a tough sell with Spencer Rattler stepping in this year for what should be at least two seasons.

It's no different with Brennan. Rattler will be gone in 2 years and so will Brennan.

Rattler is going to be at Oklahoma for as long as Brennan is at LSU (2 years). After having what will be back to back 4000+ yards 40+ TD seasons, he will be off to the NFL.

I guess most know this but Brock and Max live in the same town. Their High Schools are literally 7.5 miles apart.
Both Schools are about that Distance from UGA's football stadium.
Max actually atteneded Prince Ave Christian School before transferring to OCHS (Where Mettenberger went)

Max committed and stuck to his commitment as Brock had been looking at OU, Clemson, Auburn, USC and UGA.

Brocks decision is almost 90% wanting to stay home.

Being you could walk from Prince to UGA before lunch AND the fact a fellow local Athens area QB in Max has always been 100% LSU.
Although there was some history with Christian Life. LSU was never considered. Why would he want to follow Max to LSU a year later?

He never considered LSU nor did anyone expect him to.
I assure you we will be fine with Max...

Auburn family. Don't like Gus' lack of qb development or AU offense. Loves Lincoln Riley but too far from home.
