Former Ohio State runningback commit Darvon Hubbard has taken his recruitment slowly since de-committing from the Buckeyes

quote:

"I talked to Coach O (head coach Ed Orgeron) and (runningbacks coach) Tommie Robinson in the past couple of days," he explained. "Coach O said that Coach Robinson will be making a home visit to me after the championship game, and they want me to come in for an official visit later in January."
quote:

"Coach O said I could be the guy he needs in this class and I feel comfortable with their staff," he admitted. "They like how versatile I am and they think I could be used split out against linebackers and also to run the ball between the tackles. They said they want to get me on campus and go from there."

I would imagine our board would have Gibbs first then Evans' then Bradford followed by Hubbard. Any of the above would be fine by me.

Why is he rated so low by 247?

As a “backup plan,” he’s pretty damn good. It’s good to know that the staff is making sure they are covered after Evans’ recruitment turned into an epic shitshow.

That's not low. Look at Justin Jefferson's 24/7 recruiting profile if you want to see LOW.

I realize you are talking about 24/7 rankings and not the composite but it still holds true for Justin and his ridiculous rating.

Fits the offense perfectly.

And frankly, the best fit of any RB in this class (that I know we've recruited).

I can tell you, he was a top 100 player all of his junior year per 247. Was special as a sophomore. Seems he gradually lost some of his explosion since then. Don't know why. Same story with Emery except you knew he lost that extra gear because of the weight he put on.

Still very good.

Stahp.

This is not even close to being a similar situation.

Good north south runner.

Shows good vision and cutting ability.

Shows good strength.

Shows good catching ability.

Did not see anything on blocking but that his typical of high school highlight films.

Appears to not have that initial burst like some other "elite" backs but gets to the hole on time.

Appears to pick up speed at a steady rate. Looks slower than other RB prospects but no one is catching him from behind.

It is a sign of low intelligence to point at lower rated recruits that succeed as evidence that another lower ranked recruit will succeed.

I don't know much about this kid, so that is not what I'm talking about, but rather just in general. The success rate of higher ranked recruits is astronomically higher. There are just fewer of them so of course there will be guys that out perform their high school ratings.

Just stop. We can appreciate a kid as underrated without using other underrated kids as proof he will be good.

Why the heck do all of your posts seem to get downvoted for no reason?? When you bring useful information to this board, you still get downvoted for no reason. It makes no sense, but neither does this board a lot of the time.

It is a sign of VERY LOW intelligence to type the stupid shite quoted above.

I posted a link to his recruiting profile and an article that has his hudl highlights. I have done my part and don't know what else to tell you.

You do you man and don't read my posts if you don't like them or they don't concern you. That is what I normally do when I see your posts.

That is because of the idiot Rantards that somehow are able to stumble across this board.

Long story short - They were so dead-set against Coach Eaux and the LSU program under Eaux that they could hardly breathe. I was the opposite. Now they look like idiots and hate me for it like it was my fault. They are called TARDS for a reason.

Can you stop trying to make every thread part of your crusade against recruiting services?

You love to rail on about Jefferson, read this:

quote:

If you had any doubt, yes, it is that Jefferson family. The youngest Jefferson never received quite the recruiting attention of his older brothers, instead receiving offers from smaller in-state schools and Northwestern. It wasn’t until late summer that LSU actually extended interest in Jefferson, notably after former 2017 signee Seth Stewart left the program.
