We are recruiting Gerald. If he doesn't want to come to LSU it's not due to a lack of trying but him not wanting to be here. Just because that isn't the situation for Ellis, which you are so hung up on, doesn't mean it's true for Willis. There are other corners in LA this year higher on the board than Ellis. Let's move on.

Yep, just recruiting tricks. They were telling his brother they'd let him play RB at some schools. Its all mind-tricks and ego-boosting techniques that play on the immature minds. Sad, but it works.

And like I said, we're not going after OOS kids over him. We want him in the 2014 class. But at the end of the day, as much as I want Willis to be a Tiger, I'm not going to take the approach that him going elsewhere will prove the beginning of the end of the LSU program. If that were actually the case, we would have imploded by this point. Collins screwed us, acted like a brat, and made a lot of people pissed. Most will not allow that to happen with a single player again. We'll live either way.

You did not, but with every single one of them, someone will say who ever it is will not come to LSU. Wills won't to to LSU because of his brother, Fournette won't go to LSU because the St Aug coach hates LSU. It gets tiresome after a while.

Evey fan base has it's share of negative fans. LSU's are no worse than most. We do take the rejection personally but we also show the same kind of positive vibe for the guys that play on our team. Instate kids know the love LSU fans have for their players is real. They know we'd rather win with our own kids than bring in out of state mercenaries.
If they don't feel the same way you recruit them the same way you recruit OOS players. Try to leave a spot for them but get what you need when you can. If another great player wants to play for you, you have to take him.

I'm like you, I can't understand how a guy who talks about representing the boot, doesn't sign with the home team, much less how one signs with his state team's rival. Nothing we can do about it. If we're recruiting other great guys for the same spot, we have to go ahead and take them.
I want all of the in-state top recruits we can get and the OOS ones, but the ones I really want are the ones that are really fired up to play for LSU. Guys like Herron who commits and then comes to the camp in Purple & Gold and just hangs out. I want the guys like Diarse who could have played anywhere but knew he wanted LSU so he committed early. I want the guys like Brazil who our staff found early, offered, got a commitment from and he stays with us because he knows the history of how guys in that very same situation have thrived at LSU. I want the guys like Gilmore and Pagano who have come out and named LSU as their favorites (hopefully, they've told the coaches they are coming for sure).
The rest that are playing the game, I won't hate for enjoying it, but they are all lumped in together no matter if they be In-state or OOS. They all know they can come. The ones that jump on board get the seats.
