Nice video-preview from Barton Simmons of the best players for 2014. Fournette and Cameron Robinson are on it.

Wow. It's hard to imagine a 16- or 17-year-old kid that big.

I bookmarked the June camp thread so we could get info from it when someone comes on and asked, "Who's coming to this camp?"
Here's the link just in case the Vegas guys I owe money to catch up with me before then. camp thread

Nice informative article on Bentley Spain in The Detroit News after Michigan offered.
"I'm planning in June to visit LSU, Florida, and all the other places that have offered me, but it's a little far on the weekends," Spain said. "I'm keeping it wide open right now. I may try to narrow it down in six months or so, but for now I am completely open."
Some good background info on him and a good bit of what he's looking for in a program. He also talked up LSU.
"I actually was born in Indianapolis and moved (to North Carolina) when I was 3," he explained. "My parents went to school in the Big Ten and are Big Ten fans. I knew about (Michigan) and I've watched a couple of their games, but I wasn't intently following them."
"I want to go somewhere where I can win, somewhere that has great tradition, and somewhere that I'd consider going if I wasn't going to play football," he said. "I think if it's the right place, it's the right place — however far that is. If it's the right place, I'm willing to go."
"Florida and Miami offered pretty close together and both are football powerhouses. Vanderbilt and LSU offered me on the same day (in early May), so those are two huge SEC offers."

Some good news for LSU's chances with some important 2014 guys in The Lone Star State.
Texas June 10th Camp Mostly Defined By No-Shows
Collins has named A&M as his favorite but LSU is in on both Nicks and they both already have LSU offers.

There were also some notable absences in the 2014 class. Dallas Skyline cornerback Cedric Collins never made it down to Austin for a camp and it appears that Texas has fallen completely off his radar. Other defensive backs who didn't make it include Lancaster safety Nick Harvey and Dallas Bishop Dunne cornerback Nick Watkins, though the latter prospect indicated on Twitter that he may take an unofficial visit to Texas this week. However, the Texas coaches place a great deal of emphasis on attending these camps because it's the only chance they will have to work these kids out before extending offers next February.

Things seem to be going really well so far with Bentley Spain. Really good to know that Chief is hitting the Carolina's well.

Any reason why we haven't offered Da'Shawn Hand?
I don't know. Everyone else has offered. You probably read he camped at UNC and is camping at Bama and tOSU. I don't know if they are considered his favorite, but I read that he's visited VaTech multiple times. Maybe it's just the proximity.
From what he told an tOSU recruiting site, he wants an LSU offer. 11 Warriors

Are there any schools that haven't offered that you'd like to get an offer from?
Yes, I'd like to get an offer from LSU, Wisconsin, Oregon, Texas, and Nebraska.
Also from the same article, we would be great for his major:
quote:
Are any of the schools recruiting you standing out right now?
All schools are even right now. Every school has something special or unique about them, so I just want to take visits and see what is special about each school. I want to major in engineering so I am looking at the engineering program at all the schools that are recruiting me as well.
Again from the same interview, he isn't opposed to leaving Virginia:
quote:
You live in Virginia right now, but schools across the country are recruiting you. Are you opposed to moving away from home?
I'm definitely not opposed to it. I'm from Philly originally so there's no home school or home state advantage, or anything of the sort.
In this InsideNorthernVirginia article he says he's not going to let anyone know where he wants to go.
quote:
When it comes time to start zeroing in on a decision, Hand plans to keep a close watch on saying what schools he’s interested in. He’s been steadfast in that belief since Boston College was the first D-1 program to offer Hand a year ago.
In fact, he cautions people from reading too much even into his decision to attend camps at Virginia Tech and Alabama at the exclusion of others.
“I’m not going to let anyone know,” Hand said. “I thought all along that’s the way I wanted to do it and keep it to myself.”
After reading this Michigan recruiting article, I can't believe LSU's not on him:

I just figured out what I want to major in. I want to major in petroleum engineering
